What a great time! There was only one other couple when we took this tour. After walking through the marketplace and learning some of the history of Livorno, we reached Ristorante Aragosta. There we had a demo of Bolognese sauce and then proceeded to make our pasta from flour and egg. We also made Tiramisu then cut our pasta dough into noodles. Following this, we had our lunch from our preparations with wine. The staff we dealt with could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Highly recommended!

My wife and I were the only folks on the tour. The company guide walked us through the public market and over to a seafood restaurant where we had our lesson and lunch. We were taught how to make the regional specialty, a seafood soup/stew, cacciuco. As part of the lesson, we each cleaned an octopus and other seafood. My wife then prepared a desert. The folks at the restaurant were very nice and welcoming. We were treated to some local wine with our lunch. Despite the photo, no, there was no pasta. Maybe there just isn't enough time, but it would have been better if we had shopped with the chef - what we thought Market to Table meant. The food was waiting for us in the restaurant. And I think it would have been more fun had there been a couple more folks in the lesson. But we enjoyed ourselves and the experience. Total time - about 2 1/2 hours.

Not as advertised. This was advertised on the Viator site NOT as cooking lesson but as Learn to make fresh pasta. The establishment was not set up to teach us pasta making but to show us how to cook fish stew which I would never have signed up for. They were nice and fed us good food but they simply could not do what we had paid for and said we would have to to take it up with the company that advertised it.

After a little confusion, the day was Amazing!! The local tour company had me listed for the wrong tour - they took me on the Organic Farm Cooking Lesson instead of the Market to Table. A little nerve wrecking to start but so very worth the experience! I was the only guest, other than a group of local elementary school children at the farm! The farm tour was excellent, my guide made the whole experience, she was extremely personable - I felt like I was spending time with a friend. Enjoyed the Equestrian Center also at the farm. At the restaurant - Chef Carmen was a joy! Even though there was a language barrier, I do not speak Italian - we made it work and I truly enjoyed time spent in her kitchen. My favorite tour of the 3 week trip! If you are looking for a real life, get to know the local culture experience - this is it!!

This was an interactive cooking demonstration at best. The number one reason we booked this was because it stated you prepare a range of Italian dishes, including fresh pasta. We did nothing with pasta not even get to eat it! We pretty much stood while the chef of the restaurant prepared a very simple dish. We were done in two hours and that included additional down time. We were disappointed that not only did we not do what was promised but we had passed up the opportunity to go to Tuscany, Pisa, and/or Florence to do it. Unfortunately we didn't nearly get the experience other reviewers seemed to have gotten.

Absolutely not worth the money we paid !!! Prepare a range of Italian dishes, including fresh pasta .Pick up expert tips and techniques from a local chef Enjoy a delicious 3-course lunch, including wine The cook was not even Italian and it wast 4.5-hour cooking class. The class was held in the private apartment without professional kitchen. I was the only one person in the class and my lunch was a fish, pene pasta with cheese and a bread. The pasta was from the store as the cook stated there is no time to make a fresh pasta . No wine was offer anly water. There was absolutely no 3 course lunch. We had a salad but only because I bought the ingredients myself. No dessers !! Such a disappointment !!!

The lesson is a little different than what is stated in the highlights and should be changed to reflect what is actually done. There was no shopping for ingredients, we walked from tour office to restaurant and talked about town. There was no fresh pasta which was something I was looking forward to. However with that all said, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great behind the scenes experience in a real Italian restaurant. The chef and our host were extremely knowledgeable about fresh seafood and how to prepare it. They shared tips along with steps in preparing a local fish stew from scratch. It was instructive in the way the used fresh vegetables and pieces of fish to create the stock. It was only four of us in the kitchen with the chef and we were invited to help with the preparation and cooking as much or as little as we wanted. More fish, scampi, shrimp and octopus were added that gave the dish a unique flavor. We saw others later order the same dish while we were there. Then we prepared a Tiramisu desert from scratch. My wife did most of the hard work on the desert. It was enough to serve us four and later was available to other patrons. Afterwards we were able to eat our creations at this wonderful restaurant. Our host made sure we had enough wine to accentuate the meal. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who like to experience a behind the scenes experience and enjoy a great meal in a wonderful atmosphere. Our thanks to making the time we spent in Livorno as one of our highlights from our trip to Italy. Ciao!

Our guide was awesome and cooking class was incredible! It turned out to be just the 2 of us registered. We met the guide in the center of town in Livorno. She was friendly, spoke English well and knew a lot about Livorno. We went to the local market where we saw some great produce, meat and cheese. We then went to a restaurant that was closed for lunch- and we got to cook in their kitchen! The chef there had prepared some delicious snacks and had wine ready for us when we arrived. We made eggplant parmigiana, hand made pasta and biscotti. We had a great time! We weren't sure what to expect with this going in, but it was one of the highlights of our vacation!

The cooking class was a lot of fun. It was a small group (3 of us and another couple). Our 7 year old loved it and they were great with her.
