Our guide's accent was difficult to understand. About half our group complained amongst themselves that they couldn't understand. He was very earnest and shared lots of information and stories. I was able to follow 80 of his talk, but I speak a bit of Frenh and my ear was used to his accent. We translated for our kids. I was excited about the bunker, but I would skip that portion next time. It really isn't visually interesting except the layers of paint samples they have on a display. We stood in a cement hallway for 30 minutes while he shared history. It was interesting but went on too long. The machinery portion was fascinating but our kids were a bit glazed over by then. They have changed the Tower rules so you cannot buy a ticket to the upper level, unless you go back down to the base and start over. Loved seeing the tower at night but we were so cold that a much shorter tour would have been more appropriate. I would book again, just without the bunker portion.

We went on the 7pm time of this tour, it was great because there was slightly less visitors to the the tower at this time. I would recommend this tour if you want to get some background knowledge of the tower, its involvement in the wars and see how the mechanics of this beautiful tower. As well as some amazing photo opportunities on the second floor viewing deck. Our guide was passionate and very knowledgeable, we had a really enjoyable time.

Well the bunker part was just some static displays but the history is amazing. We then went to see the incredible, huge hydraulics which operate the lifts, before touring the Eiffel Tower. Climbed to roof of the restaurant and our guide pointed out some of the main Paris features. Without the crowd, she was easy to hear and very interesting. She also suggested we buy a ticket to go to the summit after the tour, which we did. A lift to the summit for amazing views of Paris, and to see the flat of Gustavo Eiffel. WOW!

A really interesting and informative tour. We learned a lot about the history of the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding area before actually going up to the second level. Our guide was very informative and helpful. Our 12 year old son really enjoyed seeing the engineering works for the tower lifts. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Tour itself was o.k. Guide was a little difficult to understand and often he directed his presentation only to one side of the group. Major, Major Disappointment - with Viator and the local company, Cultival - is that they did not know you could no longer buy tickets from the second level to the top. Even now, 4 days later, Viator is advertising Before leaving, your expert guide will point out where you can purchase tickets for the 3rd level, should you wish to experience the Eiffel Tower from the very top! Guide was completely unhelpful in trying to remedy this. He did not know, nor did Cultival, that the second level ticket office is now permanently closed. All he said was to go back down to the ground floor entrance, stand in a long line, and buy another ticket. Of course, by the time we got down, the summit tickets were closed out. So buyer beware. If you want to go to the summit of the Eiffel tower, do not take this tour. Another poor aspect of this tour is that they ask you to meet at the North pillar by the statue of Gustave Eiffel and to be there early. So you will stand in the security line for a least a half an hour - it took me an hour - to get access to the meeting location only to have the guide lead you out of the security area first thing to go to the bunker! Of course, you will stand in a security line AGAIN to re-enter the secure area to go on the tower part of the tour. Why this tour doesn't meet outside of the South security area is beyond me. 45 years ago I climbed to the second level of the tower and this was my time to get to the summit. It didn't happen with this Viator tour.

Unfortunately, although we walked to the underground bunker, the main reason we paid for this tour, we found upon arrival that it was CLOSED and no entry due to a photo shoot and a race- so we were turned back. The other HUGE problem is that your instructions tell clients to meet at the North tower by the statue of Gustav Eiffel at 08:30 a.m, 1/2 hr. before the tour should begin. What you do NOT tell us is that the gates to the Eiffel Tower are CLOSED until about 9 a.m. and there is no entry and therefore you have hundreds of people standing outside the now shuttered area with NO GUIDE to say, sorry, we cannot meet where it was designated as you cannot get in and SORRY I am not outside, but inside the gates, so unable to tell you this. Of course, this situation of the closed area inside the gates has been ongoing for quite a while, but the company which Viator uses DOES NOT INFORM anyone of this on their confirmation sheet. So, people with instructions that are as good as garbage have to stand outside not knowing if they are at the correct gate, ,where the guide might be, etc. etc. and this went on for a minimum of 45 min. past the 08:30 MUST BE THERE hour for the 09:00 a.m tour. AND, for the guide not to be informed that the Bunker was closed and we had to walk outside the Tower Grounds for another 6 streets and back to finally re-enter the Eiffel Grounds once she found out that the Bunker was off-limits- well, quite a disaster. Not the fault of the guide who was pleasant but the company you have used obviously does not care once they have the money in-hand with no-one to correct the obvious errors on the paperwork. Our group consisted of people from Australia, UK, USA, S. Korea and all were quite upset about the lack of communication to the guide as well as on our Confirmation sheets. RATED as AWFUL and MONEY THROWN OUT experience. Save the guide who was cheerful and knowledgeable - totally not her fault. Disappointment as I paid for four tickets for this NON-TOUR.

Not Sure What I Expected or What I got. This trip was mostly boring. The best part was when our guide took us to the middle viewing station and oriented us to what we were seeing. We were supposed to see the bunker but I'm not sure we did. The tour went underground but to only one room. When we were in London we saw Churchill's bunker, which was fasinating. In this tour you did not get a feel on how this bunker was used or its importance in history.

We enjoyed learning the mechanics of the Eiffel Tower and the history of the bunker plus going to the second level for viewing the city. The tour would have been great except our guide was late arriving. Our ticket said to arrive 30 minutes before our tour time. We did so, but our guide arrived five minutes after the start time. The guide acted like this was no big deal which seemed rude to us. Our group came back to the meeting place once because we were missing a number of people. Overall the guide seemed unorganized although the presentation of information seemed authentic.

For a 3 p.m. tour, we were told to meet at 2:30. The entire group was present at 2:30, the guides showed up at 3. Then back outside the secure area for a less than great underground bunker tour. 45 minutes to get through security AGAIN, then to the underground area of the tower. That was worthwhile, also a bit of a line skip for the elevator to the second floor. Overall an OK experience.
