We were very disappointed on this trip. Paid all that money just to stand at a bonfire for two hours and long queues for toilet and drink, which I didn’t get. Then we went perlan to see fireworks. You can get a free bus to the perlan. Couldn’t go in so had to stand outside in the car park. Didn’t see much for the crowds of people. Much better the year before, when we watched from the cathedral.
Parking lot Prosecco Party

Drinking a glass of Prosecco in a parking lot without access to facilities for 1.5 hrs is NOT ideal. I had been expecting same as last year when we were IN the Perlan, not just the parking lot.

I would go back to Iceland for NYE because it was absolutely AMAZING! The neighborhood bonefire was so much fun with so many people from so many countries singing and celebrating together! The locals were extremely friendly! Viewing the fireworks from the museum high on the hill was breathtaking. Being outside on the 4th flour deck with a wrap around deck was perfect! There was a 360 degree view of fireworks going off around the city for over 40 minutes. It was by far the BEST New Year's Eve I ever exerienced. I would only celebrate NYE in Iceland if I could do the tour again.

This was amazing. I didn’t know what to expect, but New Years in Iceland is crazy! Worth it for the view of Reykjavik with almost 360 degree fireworks.

This is a must do for New Years Eve...to see the magnitude that the city of Reykjavik explodes in colors with fireworks is truly breathtaking. The party that accompanies it is a nice gathering of fellow travelors.

Bonfire - definitely cool, but you could just take a cab yourself. The fireworks - beyond cool. A shouldn't miss. Fireworks everywhere in the city and a pretty decent viewing location. BUT, the nearly two hours between was not managed well - people were sitting on floors, on stairs, just standing around and waiting for the fire works. The tour has a big void in the middle, which should be better filled with something more than free coffee. Come on guys - make the evening the event that it should be don't just drive us around and make us wait between the city's events.

This tour was so much more than we expected, following a visit to bonfire and fireworks we were taken to The Perlon and watched the whole of Reykjavik from a balcony, fireworks and celebrations for 2 hours with a couple of glasses of bubbly included.

This tour began great with the bonfire and ended well with the fireworks. In between however it was pretty lame. We just drove around. Another stop needs to be planned to make this great. The tour guide Didi was really good and did try to keep thing interesting but it really did not work.

This was a good way to experience new year, we were taken to a bonfire with tourists and locals, there was a band playing and a firework display, when this finished we were taken back to the grayline depot where they put on coffee, water and chocolates and the grayline staff entertained us. My friend asked for tea but the only option was coffee, would have been nice to have tea or hot chocolate available as alternative options. The downside was the portable toilets, you couldn't see what you were doing in the dark and the queues were massive, perhaps need to rethink that part for next year. Then around 11 we were put back on a bus and taken to a high vantage point across the city. At 11.30 the sky lit up, Icelanders are crazy about letting off fireworks for new year, these were display grade and were going off until around 1 in the morning. We got dropped back off in downtown Reykjavik at 1.30 and went to a bar for a few hours. It was worth it, but wrap up warm.
