Interesting but too much time!
, mag 2019
Isabella was very nice and well informed however the tour was too much, too much food and too much time. In the first few minutes we visited a donut shop and a pastry shop within a few blocks, then tacos at 10:30. FIrst part of the tour was awesome otherwise! Isabella asked if we were ok extending the time to walk through the city rather than take a bus which I guess is what was normal. We agreed however I didn't know there was NOTHING to see during this 30 minute walk and it made the last part of the tour very rushed. Once again frozen hot chocolate and ice cream within a 10 minute period. No time at the Mission Church and a very rushed uphill walk in Mission Delores park. This tour has the potential to be 5 start but not the way it is executed.
I had an excellent tour with Christian. Since no one else subscribed I was alone in the tour.

Christian, my guide was excellent: full of knowledge, full of experience and stories about the neighbourhood and the murals. The tour was interesting and enriching. We also tasted the local specialities and enjoyed the flavours, which I am always curios to taste.

By her own admission, this was the first time she had led this tour, and it had to be cut short due to protests in Alamo Square. Nevertheless, I wished we had had more information about the murals themselves. One alleyway we visited with no commentary at all, except oh, this is new,. An advertised bus ride was never offered, so I asked if I could meet the group at the next stop. The food was good, not great, and the tacos were way too spicy for us all. Again, had to ask for sour cream to cut the heat. We heard way too many stories of her car being broken into and getting robbed and her favorite tour of the Golden Gate Bridge. She is well meaning, but needs to get a more peofessional approach, including not waiting 15 minutes for latecomers, which I'm not sure is a company policy or not, but it wasn't appreciated.

We had a wonderful guide named Jim take care of us during our tour of the Mission. Who knew the Mission had so much history?! Jim knew so much about the various neighborhoods and the ever-changing city. Not to mention, all of the delicious food that is included in this amazing tour - Be sure you come hungry!

Awesome tour! The Mission is such a cool San Francisco neighborhood. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and we learned a lot about the local history, culture, street art and food scene. The food we sampled was very yummy and we got plenty of tastings, so come hungry!

I'm so glad I did this tour. Everyone raves about the Mission but it's a lot to take in and I honestly I don't think I could have really appreciated it or done it on my own. I feel like I would have missed so much if I just wandered around. Our tour guide Jim was a delight. You could tell he was excited about the history of the neighborhood. He took us down all the small alleys filled with murals. He went into the history and symbolism of many of the larger ones. He also delved into the history of the neighborhood like Mission Dolores and the fire of 1906. The food choices were on point (Dynamo Donuts) and having a knowledgeable local pick out the perfect taqueria ensures that your trip to the Mission won't be 'meh' (holy smokes the chorizo taco!!!). A tour really is the best way to experience the Mission, whether you're a tourist or Bay Area local (like me) trying it out for the first time.
