Our guide was great - friendly, knowledgeable and had some great suggestions for the rest of our stay in Italy! Our tour was in December at 2 p.m. and it was cold - so with the sun setting at 5 p.m. we didn't really feel that we saw the best of the area and we only made it to one winery and had a brief stop in Montalcino. I think this would have been better if it was offered mid-day so we could at least have seen the beautiful landscape despite the cold weather!
We paid a great deal for this tour - it is listed for 326 for 2 people for 5 hours. Carolina picked us up at our hotel on time. A delightful young lady with whom we spent a very enjoyable day. It was interesting to get to know a local. She was however a driver more than guide. As knowledgable as she was about Siena and Italian politicks we got very little info about the sights. At the first town she dropped us off and came back in a half hour. This happened again at the next town. WE REALLY DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO SEE.
The winery was lovely and we learned about chianti and the wine making from the wine staff. There was ample wine but not much in the snack area.
After the tasting we went to another village and we asked Carolina to join us, she had not been there before and did accompany us. We returned to our hotel early because WE didn't know where to visit next...?
We did enjoy the afternoon but it was grossly overpriced for what we got.
Sergio was terrific, had a hard time confirming pick up point , so communication with his boss was an issue , but once he arrived the tour was great. would like to have experienced more than one winery.
Angela was an amazing tour guide. Her knowledge about wine really helped us understand Italy through this important lens. We also saw some amazing little towns along the way. She picked great spots was totally flexible when we had other ideas. Highly recommend!
Thoroughly enjoyed the stop at Pienza and most especially the tour of the wine cellar in Montepulciano! We liked the wine so much we had some shipped home!
Assisi was on wife's bucket list and was not disappointed! A great day, made even better by tour guide being flexible with times and durations and locations to ensure we could spend more time in Assisi. Recommend to have the conversation early with your guide so you are not rushed through attractions - even skip something if you want to spend more time somewhere - like Assisi! Finished off with vineyard tour where we bought some great wine for that evening's dinner.......
Wonderful day experiencing the cities of Perugia and Assisi. Our guide was fabulous and we could not wish for better. We loved Pienza. Thank you.
Our trip was fantastic. Our tour guide Sergio was really nice and told us a lot about all of the villages in Chianti that we visited. He made sure to stop and show us places with fantastic views of Chianti. Then when we went to the winery we learnt a lot about the wine-making process. Federica- our wine tour guide was really knowledgeable and the wine-tasting was a pleasure.
We were a bit ill that day and yet we had a fantastic time. Sergio thank you for inviting us to the enoteca after the trip, next time we'll make sure that we're not ill and we'll come and see you. Your suggestion for the restaurant was also great! Thank you again!
This tour was amazing! Christiano is very knowledgeable and a true pleasure to get to know. Our tour of the Chianti region was perfectly planned and very well timed and executed. We will definitely call him when we are in Tuscany again.
My wife and two daughters went on this excellent excursion through the Tuscan hills to Pienza and Montepulciano. Our friendly and knowledgeable guide and driver Carolina picked us up at our hotel and took us through some beautiful countryside. Conversation was easy and she readily answered our questions about the places and things we were seeing. She gave us some history of Pienza and left us to explore the hilltop town at our own pace and choosing. Even though the weather was rainy off and on there were still good views and many interesting shops and buildings to explore. We finished with a snack and a glass of wine in a nice little cafe and then proceeded on to Montepulciano. Again more interesting views and then a tour and wine tasting at the Talosa winery. Excellent wine to be sure and the tour was informative and entertaining exploring the natural underground cellars and cave. I would highly recommend this tour for a fun and relaxing afternoon in the area around Siena and thanks again to Carolina.
