How to Get There
St. John’s Figtree Anglican Church is located on the west coast of Nevis, about a 10-minutes drive from the center of Charlestown. Head south on Charlestown’s Main Street, continue until the church appears on the left along the road. Parking is available on the premises. No public transportation options are available.
When to Get There
The church is open daily, from morning until evening. Mass is said throughout the week with the most popularly attended services being held on Sundays. Peak season on Nevis runs from December to April and hurricane season is September through October. Beat the crowds and higher prices by coming in the spring.
Nevis Peak Along the main road, about a 10-minute drive from St John’s Figtree Anglican Church, lies a trail to Nevis Peak—the highest mountain on the island and visible from nearly every part of it. Climbing the 3,232-foot (985 meters) dormant volcano is a wonderful way to spend a day. Guides are needed since the grassy trail is unmarked, but the climb isn’t difficult and is suitable for inexperienced hikers.
