Our guide was Zak and he was excellent. We made a change to the itinerary, and he had many options for us. The driver was professional and safe. We enjoyed it very much, and recommend it.
This was a great tour with a great guide Annie that spoke and understood English very well. 798 Art Zone was of course the highlight, but visiting the hutong and the National Center for Performing Arts was great too.
Grace, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. This is the only way to see this 8th wonder of the World!
Short, less than 2 hours trip in the evening and everything was at own expense which to be fair it did say on the booking form, but I thought there might be samples to try. It was not gourmet by any means, its a long street with lots of small restaurants and stalls selling food. There is also a walk through a local craft market. Guide spoke very good English and helped us get around, maybe we expected too much as we did the Lost plate tour around Beijing the night before which was excellent.
This tour was simply amazing due to the tour guide, Jack. He was an incredible person to meet as he was very knowledgeable about the history of the terracotta warriors and horses but he was also an amazing person. We spent the entire time discussing our countries, our cultures and our histories. He was as interested in Australia as we were with China. Jack took us to restaurants where the food was incredible. He showed us around places that are not on a tourist map!! No bus lines. No microphones to inform you of information. A personal guide to explain everything. He suggested when to spend money for entrances and when to look from the outside. Jack even assisted us to move from one motel to another after seeing the condition of a rather well-known place. He negotiated a refund and helped us find a new place a short distance away.
If you want personal service with an interested, motivated guide you just have to ask for Jack. The price, by the way, was incredibly affordable and worth every cent or dollar or yuan!!
We cannot recommend this tour and this guide any more highly.

Our guide spoke fluent English and was very knowledgeable. He deserves a 5 star rating for his part. The driver was also very good. We enjoyed the walking portion of the tour very much. The problem was the River Cruise. We did not take the cruise as by the time we got there it was very, very busy. We got tickets but were going to have to wait another hour plus the boat trip was an hour. It appeared the boat trip would be very packed. The weather was quite warm and we did not look forward to hanging outside the boat terminal for an hour and getting on a very busy boat. Don't know if there is a less busy time to try to get the boat or if you can pre-purchase tickets for a certain time. In lieu of the boat trip we did drive down by the Bund and river and saw the lights from that perspective.
The tour and the tour guide were great. We managed to squeeze a lot into quite a short amount of time. The cost of the tour was in my mind not warranted. I can understand why it was expensive given that it ended up being a completely private tour however, as the tour cost me in excess of 150 for my wife and I, I do not think the cost is appropriate.
Very professional driver which I was unable to communicate because of language barrier.
Traveling with a family is not always easy so I have nothing but praise for our guide's patience. The Terracotta Warriors are indescribable in their scale and beauty. Having wanted to see them for a long time I wasn't disappointed. The opposite..
We had a really nice evening sampling all the local cuisine on Food Street in the old Muslim quarter. Our guide was knowledgable and we enjoyed lots of food, including beef and lamb skewers, sticky rice, persimmon-based drinks and snacks, tofu, flat noodles and more.
We had a really nice trip to Hua mountain. Our day started at 8 am when our driver and guide picked us up at our hotel. It took about 2 hours to get to the mountain and during that time we were given a little history on Xi'an and the mountain. Our guide recommended that we purchase a ticket on the shuttle and cable car to the West Peak, which wasn't included in the price of our package, to save time and energy. On the day we went, the lines were fairly long and the mountain was crowded, but we still enjoyed hiking for almost 5 hours to 3 out of the 4 peaks. The scenery is fantastic and it is a day well spent outside of the city of Xi'an.
Highly recommend this tour. Our guide was very friendly, funny and was always looking out for us, ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying our experience. She was especially concerned with making sure we only tried/bought food from vendors that handled the food appropriately. We finished the tour at a restaurant she recommended - we picked our favorite dishes from the menu, with her help of course. Got picked up and dropped off from/to our hotel. The tour company even treated us to ice cream at the end of the tour. Overall, amazing experience in Xi'an. Felt like a VIP.
