Panoramica

Sara was a great guide. Very knowledgeable. The food and port were wonderful and the conversation memorable.

This was one of the best food and wine tours we have ever been on from a purely food and wine perspective. Definitely have never received such value from the quantity and quality of food and wine. And everything we tasted was excellent. The tour itself was a bit lacking though. Not because of the food and wine, but on these tours I've come to expect a good amount of history/fun facts about the city. That was very limited.

I would still recommend this tour to others however.

We were disappointed with this tour.
We signed on thinking we would get to know the culture through guidance while walking and tasting food. In reality we wondered form one place to another, ate and proceeded to the next one.
The food was great and the people on the tour were nice to be with, but our guide seemed uninterested and not really engaged.
We hoped to learn about the culture and the city while navigating the streets. Instead it felt like we were walked in a group, from one establishment to the other, where we were fed and sent off to the next location. No other objective.

The only stop that was informational was at the Port wine store. The owner was the one who educated and was very good.

If you want to just walk around and grab food (which is good pretty much everywhere), you don’t need to pay for the tour. Waste of money without guidance and education.

Will not recommend.

Loved the afternoon small group gourmet food and wine tour with Sara and to see Porto through her eyes. From the food tasting of coffee and nata, to the marketplace which is sadly closing down for a renovation that will hopefully reopen again, so the locals can continue to make a livelihood. Cheeses and cured meats, to spicy pulled pork, quail and codfish cakes. Plus the ports including white and ruby. Meeting people from around the world was also another highlight of the tour, sharing insights into what makes us similar, yet different and sharing an experience where I made new friends. Thoroughly recommend the tour and Sara.

We had a really great time on this tour. First of all, they broke a large group into two smaller ones so we could all participate on a more personal level. Good call. The selection of stops I felt were well thought out, focusing on the smaller and more authentic experiences. There was plenty of food for everyone, and excellent historical and cultural references to their origins and traditions. Great job, Sara. Obrigada!

Great tour! Our guide Renato was full of local knowledge he was eager to share. The tour had a range of stops - modern coffee shop with AMAZING pasteis de nana, traditional tavern, wine shop - and they were all fabulous. I would highly recommend this tour.

Just returned from Porto one day ago, and I already miss it! Mario was an EXCELLENT tour guide, and was so knowledgeable about Porto. He was incredibly friendly, and my boyfriend and I immediately felt at ease with him, and the locals he introduced us to. The food and wine was incredible. He also filled us in on an amazing wine festival that added even more to our weekend. We had the best time, and would highly recommend booking this! If you're on the fence, BOOK IT!
