Inexpensive tour for the highlights of Puerto Plata. Taxis are expensive there so a tour is the cheapest way to see places. We had no chance to buy lunch so bring snacks with you. Tour was organized to avoid long lines at the cable car.
This was a great trip and I highly recommend it to everyone. Our guide smartly took us there first to avoid the crowds that followed and they did come. The only thing about this trip is that they rush you through in order to fit everything in that they promise and I would have rather spent more time at the top of the mountain and less time at the other stops. The jewelry factory seemed like a bit of a setup to buy jewelry from that location. The museum was ok but pretty much all geared to the kind of rocks they mine there. All in all not bad but we did have some people on our bus who would constantly break away from the group which would delay our departure to the next destination but thats just typical selfishness and not a reflection of the tour.
Next time I would probably just arrange a cable car tour alone so I could spend more time at the topography the mountain because there is a bunch of stuff to do up there that we couldnt see except for the 4people who decided they would let us sit on the bus waiting for them. The other thing to know about victor tours is that you some how need to call a number 24 hours ahead to confirm you need to be picked up at the resort but you need to use one of the travel reps to call them because they wont or cant talk to you unless you know Spanish.
1. Tour does not last 8 hours. 2. They add unscheduled stops to local grocery store and tourist shops 3. There is no food included 4. Best part is the Cable Car and National park. Reccomend you just take a cab and do that yourself (tour gives you hours at the jewlery store but 10 minutes here)
Tour takes aproximetely 5 hours .Good way to vist Puerto Plata. The city tour,Larimar Amber Cigar factory,San Felipe And cablecar Teleferic is nice experience, but time at the top of Isabel del Torres Mountain 20 minutes !! is too short. Here we must spend as minimum 2-3 hours..
The tour was wonderful, beautiful and breath taking, everything about the trip was great except the encouragement to purchase rum just to be confiscated by immigration!
Other than that the tour was fabulous!
This tour is the best way to visit Puerto Plata. Our guide gave us a lot of information about history and was able to answer all our questions. The teleferico, the city tour, cigar fabric, amber museum, the forteress San Felipe, the cathedral; everything was awesome!
