Tour was fine, Christmas lunch a bit of a disappointment
, 1 2019
The tour was fine. Sheila is pleasant. I appreciated the bathroom on the bus. The Christmas lunch cruise was confusing but no one told us what was happening, but we waited around a long time on the street, then in long lines, then they started re-assigning us and sending us in small groups to other boats. Very unorganized. Christmas carols ended up being a lounge singer who chose songs like Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas" then a series of non-Christmas 70s songs and disco lights. We dragged dress clothes and dress shoes all the way to London because it said "no jeans or trainers allowed." We wore our dress clothes for the bus tour but carried our dress shoes in backpacks - but they paid zero attention to our shoes and people were dressed every which way. The traditional turkey dinner wasn't half bad but the entire plate of food was swimming in a sweet red cabbage juice. I was dying for a cup of coffee but was told if they brought me coffee, they'd have to bring everyone coffee...so I had to wait until the end of the entire meal. I booked this entire tour because I wanted our family to have a traditional Christmas dining experience and there was nothing Christmas-y feeling about this Christmas lunch cruise.
The food was not very good and the lounge singer, singing 1970s hits was not very good. The service was great but the boat trip was too long. Plus the inside of the boat was about 80 degrees the whole time. Most of the passengers kept going outside to cool off. This is the second time we’ve done this. It was better last time. We won’t waiste 800 dollars again.
