We arrived at the meeting place & after much confusion we found out the tour was overbooked & the company that was supposed to take us on the tour said they never got the email that we had booked the tour.we did not get to see the Vatican or Sistine chapel & im still waiting to find out about a refund
I am very disappointed of this tour. First, we arrived at 9:50 am. We were told to be there at 10:00 am. I showed them my voucher and they said "You are not for 10:30 but for 11:30 am". I said that my reservation said 10 and not 11:30 am and both of the men behind the desk were rude and didn't even answered me. I called Viator and was on hold for almost 30 minutes waiting when one of the rude men screamed at me saying "Do you want to go at 11:30? because I am almost sold out" I said of course, I am waiting here and he said "then pay!" I told them that I already paid and that I was on the phone with Viator. He screamed again saying "I don't care finish your phone call" At that point I told him that he was being rude to me and I had all the documentation needed. Finally, he said to tell Viator to send them the request because they had nothing. That they didn't confirm with them. This is the only tour that doesn't accept changes and it was confirmed. At the end, they didn't provide me a guide, only a person that walked with us with other 35 people and bought a 17 Euro ticket for adult and 8 Euros for a child and told me you are done. I didn't know where to go or what to do at that time. This is the worst company. Don't waste your money going there. The other group had a tour guide that had a very short lady (probably 4. 5 feet tall) with a plastic bag on a stick, so people could see her and the only guided tour was to provide everyone with an audio set, that you can also buy there for 8 euros. They had a lot of other people on the street looking for customers, so they didn't care if you go with them or not. They were also from India and they were talking in their language most of the time. Very rude people!
The History Group host this Vatican Visit. It was a gift from me for my daughter's 21st Birthday that day so we duly turned up at the allotted meeting point ( their offices just behind the Vatican ) at 1.30 for the 2pm tour on the 29th. Outside the offices we met up with two lovely Japanese ladies who were also booked on the tour. The office door was locked and barred and a subsequent phone call in which they made little attempt to apologise said the tour was off because the Vatican was 'closed that day'. And they couldn't have predicted that ? So, too late to book anything else for her birthday ... and you do need to book the main Rome attractions well in advance. So less than zero out of ten to these incompetents for ruining my daughter's 21st.
Furthermore they claimed to have sent an email that neither we nor the Japanese ladies received. At this point I still haven't seen a refund of £ 156 either so no tour, no refund, no adequate explanation and no adequate apology.
The best way to skip the line at the entrance! We arrived at the meeting point and our Host was waiting for us. He took us inside the museums and give us the entry tickets. He was very nice and friendly and he really helped us to skip the huge line at the entrance Thank you! Higly recommended !!
