This excursion was full of activities but also included some leisure time. The weather wasn't very cooperative but that didn't greatly impact the day. We saw great countryside and a couple of beautiful, quaint villages, visited a cheese factory for wine and cheese tasting, learned how to make wooden shoes, dutch waffles, visited windmills - went inside a windmill and learned how/why they operate and had a great lunch (included). Our tour guide (Alfredo) was very pleasant and a wealth of information. Overall, we would recommend this trip to anyone - great day !!
Excellent guide in English. Totally worth the money just to avoid figuring out transportation to zaans schans, marken, edam, and volendam. Great waffles and cheese in volendam. Cruise across to marken was cold in April.Loved the tour of the working windmill. Just wished there was more time for shopping in volendam and zaans schans. Lunch wasnt great but cozy little place. Tour was informative!
Overall, the idea of this tour was good. The places we visited (besides Volendam as it was too touristy) were quite pretty. The day however seemed rushed as there was no free time at any of the stops, except the last stop which allowed for 15 minutes. The lunch was also mediocre.
We also, unfortunately for us, seemed to have booked this tour on a day with a 'celebrity' present. We were not notified of this in advance. A camera crew followed us around throughout the day and always had their cameras in our faces which was rather uncomfortable. The guides also seemed to make the time to allow the camera crew to get the right shots, but couldn't let us stop for a minute to go to the washroom.
This was an enjoyable day trip and nice way to see a bit of the Netherlands countryside - plus get a bit of education on their amazing engineering and problem solving. Of course there was a bit of hard sell at the cheese shop, etc, but it was still a fun thing to do and the scenery was beautiful.
The tour was wonderful. The guide and driver were great but...the advertisement said we would have some free time and insinuated there would be available places for shopping. Our guide when asked mentioned shopping at the last stop. There was no free time until the very end and it was a tiny shop in the wood shoemaker Demo. That was disappointing. I felt they were rushing us all day to get back an hour and a half before what was advertised.
We are greateful that we booked the Lindbergh Day Tour to the windmill which included the lunch and cruise, it was really fruitful, not just sightseeing and seeing how the windmill function, but also get to see Waffle making, cheese tasting, Clogs shoe making, and ended with the nice cruise to enjoy the wind! The Tour Guide - Yvette is so so so friendly and hospitality! She is very clear, caring and ensuring everybody is happy! Offers help to take photo and take extra questions patiently! Very professional guide and the driver Bert - was also nice and friendly! This is a highly recommended tour! Go for it and u won’t be regret!More
The day trip was really good and I highly recommend it to many. Our guide was awesome too! If you want to shop where you are taken to, just be prepared to not be allowed to shop much. Overall, this was a great tour.
