My husband and I did the morning catamaran cruise with snorkeling and we had a BLAST! We were both first timers and had no issues at all, the crew was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and fun - this was the perfect way to start our trip and explore the beautiful water off of Aruba! We were very pleasantly surprised to only have maybe 8-10 people on our boat, it wasn’t crowded at all even when everyone wanted to lay in the nets at the front. Awesome value and I’d recommend to anyone to do it! (Side note - my husband gets motion sick but he took 2 Dramamine beforehand and was fine! A few people were bothered but managed it okay, if you’re worried just take your med, don’t eat much ahead of time or while on board and don’t spend too much time bobbing on the water while snorkeling, you’ll be fine!)
Four of us went on the morning snorkel. The crew was great, couldn’t do enough to make sure you were enjoying yourself. The snorkeling was super.Would definitely recommend. The length of the trip was just right!
The information on how to get to the departing dock was not very good from the outfitter. We took a cab from the cruise ship dock and took only 10 minutes to get there even though the outfitter said it would take about an hour. They departing also about an hour late from the scheduled 9:30 departing time. Once on our way, it was chaotic since all the ships were competing for the mooring piers, and our captain almost collided with another catamaran and to avoid the collision ran over the top of people that were snorkeling. By a miracle no one got hurt but it could have been a disaster. Another point, is encouraging to drink alcohol before your snorkeling swims which should not be good practice. The stop at the sunken war ship was not great because there was a very strong current that day, I know this is beyond their control. Better organization needs to be in place when the cruise ships are in town so that is not a race to the mooring piers with risks of collisions.
