The tour company staff was superb. Unfortunately, we experienced a terrible weather day for this excursion and frankly, the challenge to complete the early portion of the jet ski tour was tough - waves, driving rain and frequent salt water to the face - again, NOT the staff fault. The beauty of Bora Bora and the offshore Motu certainly was worth the jet ski trip. The lunch at Bloody Mary's was exceptional for the ambience of the place with excellent food. The shark and sting ray experience was also good, but the wave current was strong and snorkelers needed to have fins to deal with the water, etc.. Overall, we recommend this company, but pick a good weather day!
This was sooooo much fun!! Toiki was an amazing guide and made the tour VERY memorable! We started out the day on Jet ski's and tooled around the island for over 2 hours got stuck in a thunderstorm on the way back but that just added to the adventure! Next, he dropped us at Bloody Mary's for a nice long leisurely lunch- we spent some time at the beach across the street before he picked us up on the pier and took us to 3 different snorkeling spots where we saw lemon sharks, petted the sting rays, saw parrot fish, pilot fish and SO many more! A truly magical day!! if you have the chance, DO THIS!! I highly recommend Toiki too!!! La Orana!
Tioko. This man was by far one of the best tour guides I have ever been around and we did a ton of different excursions through Chase Travel but our first through viator. This was honestly insane.
We snorkeled the entire morning.
First stop was a 40-60ft deep area where we saw the most magnificent Manta Ray. I mean this thing was a beauty...the first time I looked down and saw it, I freaked out as it looked up at me and popped right back out of the water and then I looked back down and just enjoyed its presence.
Second stop was a lagoon area about waist deep. This was beautiful clear water where we saw blackfin sharks and had stingrays all around us. Tioko was so playful and my wife was scared of them coming around us but he'd throw the tuna right near us to freak her out and she laughed and freaked out and it was all fun and games. He never made any of us feel uncomfortable. It was amazing.
Third stop was much deeper. About 100-120 feet deep but my god was it just majestic. You could see the ocean floor and I have captured some amazing videos on the Gopro. We were looking for lemon sharks that were supposed to be there. I swear I saw one at the bottom of the ocean and another one of the tourists also saw the same shark. It was MASSIVE!! I'm still looking through the footage to see if I caught it. But the water was so clear and the fishes were so pretty. It was amazing.
Fourth stop was the coral gardens. This was just as beautiful as it sounds. My wife finally let go off the boat and snorkled since there are no sharks or anything in the coral gardens. There are Eels!! Tioko is a fish. This guy took my go pro and dove about 40 feet for 2 minutes straight and used my gopro to record an eel coming out of the corals and you can see it on the go pro as the eel is looking right at him and darting out and it has it's sharp razor teeth!!! I was in awe and we just watched him with no mask or anything diving that deep and getting this.
Bloody Mary's was whatever. Didn't care too much for it we are veg. so it's hard to care much for it.
Jetskiing was AWESOME. The other couples were new to jetskiing and we had made friends with a few of them and we all had a blast and Tioko felt comfortable enough where we just rip through waves and do obnoxiously sharp turns and get airborne on hard hitting ones. It was awesome. One of the tourists on the jetski that were sisters fell off twice. They were awesome and hilarious and Tioko and all of us had a good laugh. Nothing serious. Again, it was all fun and games and he was such a laid back guy. He was insane though...he literally flipped the jetski sideways and was underwater as he was driving it and then would pop right back up! It was crazy. WE definitely thought he fell off and then suddenly he would come right back up.
Anyways, I would highly suggest this entire day tour. It was exhausting. It was thrilling. It was eye opening. It was beautiful. It was honestly the best money I have spent and carry memories that I will never forget. My wife and I loved this so much.
Please tip Tioko. I noticed there isn't much tipping going on in French Polynesia but this man deserves it...it doesn't hurt to throw a few dollars someone's way when they are that awesome.
Booked this tour on our honeymoon and had a blast.
Started the day with our amazing tour guide Jean. He took us on jet skies around the entire island pointing out various geographic facts and resort information. We took a rest on motu where Jean showed us how to open a coconut. The jet skies portion of tour was our favorite, we booked a single jet ski and shared, there is plenty of time to switch riders and opportunity for you to take it by yourself for a little while. Again if you have the opportunity to go with Jean your in for a real treat, he made the experience better!
Next it was lunch at Bloody Mary's. I'll do you a favor, pass on the Bloody Mary and definitely try the Mahi Mahi Reuben sandwich-it was exceptional.
Lastly finished the tour with lagoon snorkel. Lots of black tip sharks, rays, and colorful fish. We also saw a Moray Eel and a big baracuda. Our boat captain said it is possible to see the a manta ray on this excursion, but we did not. He did spend time doing his best to locate it. All gear avaible at request for snorkeling.
All in all, this is the tour you should be doing to get the most value out of your time in Bora Bora. Scheduling was prompt and organized. Make sure you bring your under water camera and sunscreen. This has been the highlight of our stay.
This is a HAVE TO in Bora Bora!!!! Not sure if there was a mix up on the morning we were to be picked up from our hotel by boat, but we were picked up by car instead , other than that the whole day was amazing!!! First we went out and snorkeled with the sharks and rays, we actually got to see a giant manaray too....just AMAZING!! And than off to the Coral Garden where it was just beautiful! Thank you to our guide Ed, who was so kind and full of knowledge of the sea and the island! Next we had lunch at Bloody Mary's... Have the seared tuna... Yummers!!! Don't forget to take some pics at the entrance... Once you see the view, you will know what I mean!! Finally our jet ski adventure around the island with Glen and Tioko... We were with Tioko and had a blast!!! I decided to go rogue and get my own wave runner...instead of sharing with my hubby.... Unless you are in super great shape and have riden before, stick with hubby!!! I had a blast but once the wind picked up it got real bouncy and a little scary.. LOL ... But our guide Tioko was GREAT.... He made sure I was okay every step of the way! My husband said it was one of the best times he ever had, especially since he is a thrill seeker and gave Tioko a run for his money .... Thanks again Tioko for keeping him in line. - Glen and Tioko also did a coconut husk demo and I could have had many coconut waters.... Yummers! Make sure you wear a water shirt and LOTS of sunscreen... Thank you again to Ed, Tioko and Glen for a day we will soon not forget...you guys ROCK!!! :- :- :-
