Good trip to experience the area outside Dublin but not taking up too much time when we were only there two nights. Fascinating to see the Monastery City of Glendalough and to think of it bustling with people in the 6th to 10th centuries. Nice scenery and good walking paths to the Lakes.
It was a nice tour. Beautiful in the fall. But it is mostly self guided. You don’t learn a lot from the driver. We did a hike around the upper lake which was very nice. If you want a taste of the country side and a nice hike/nature walk this is for you! But don’t expect a wealth of information.
Beautiful location and a decent length of time allowed at the site. The driver was friendly and informative and made it clear where and what time we needed to return to the bus. Bathroom facilities at hotel near monastic site. Would recommend.
I did not find the place of departure and could not participate. Since various other people did mention that the place was difficult to find, I took more than double the time of what google map proposed and still did not find it...
