I hate giving poor reviews, but with this we were disappointed. I had read previous reviews people saying you didn't have to have experience riding a Vespa and it was great. Well our transportation came late placing us at the Vespa location rather late we had a little bit of time to train on them and then we were told we shouldn't go out into the city traffic. So our tour guide got us a van to take us up to the location we would have gone to on the Vespas. The guide was super friendly and tried everything he could, but this was a Very expensive way to go up to over look Florence.
Gianmarco was a wonderful guide!! We had a fantastic time on our vespa tour in Florence. We are a family of 4. Daughter (21) and mom didn't quite pass the driving test, but that didn't stop us. Mom rode on the back of dad's bike and sis rode on the back of brother's (18). We left the rental place and hit the road full speed. Gianmarco took us to so many wonderful places. We had wonderful views of the city, beautiful scenery all the way into Siena. We stopped for gelato and wine! A wonderful experience that we would not otherwise have. Gianmarco was so nice, very professional and just a lovely man. We were fortunate to have a small group--the 4 of us and one other gentleman. This was our first trip to Italy and our first event. I have since recommended this to a number of colleagues and friends. The only drawback is that my son now wants a motorcycle! Thank you Gianmarco--we had a wonderful time. Wouldn't change a thing!
Picked this tour based on the reviews and the fact that no experience was needed. Well, if you get our guide you better have experience. He took two minutes to show us how the bike works and then had us each take a quick trip around a very small track in the back of their shop. He then took off and expected my girlfriend and I to keep up. It wasnt long before we feel behind and I took a spill on the first turn trying to catch up. Two minutes later my girlfriend went down and the guide made us return and wouldn’t take us any further. Luckily we don’t think either of us is seriously hurt but my girlfriends knee is bugging her quite a bit. We never went over simple stuff like turn signals, front compared to back brake or even what to expect on the tour. Everything felt completely rushed, if we had a little more time we would have been fine. On the way back we both started getting the hang of it.
This was awesome! Once you get use to the Vespa it's a lot of fun. This was a 3 hour tour so by the end I was exhausted. The tour guide was excellent! We made several stops and he provided us a lot of history at each stop and then we hopped back on the Vespas. It was a total of 4 people in my group, counting the tour guide. I was glad we had a small group because we may not have seen as much.
Eight family members did this tour and it was fantabulous! It was thrilling zipping through Florence. Our tour guides were the best; they were knowledgeable, courteous and loads of fun! I would recommend this tour as a must when visiting Florence. The panoramic views were beautiful and breathtaking!!! We would do it again!
This tour would have been better in warmer weather. Unseasonably cold on our trip and raining. We had planned ahead with jackets, etc but airline lost our bags. So this was our first tour on first day. We were dressed for airplane travel. Not riding on scooter. So we opted to not take this tour. Not the tours fault just didn't want to freeze while riding scooters.
Booking in advance we were unable to get a refund but I guess that's the gamble you take sometimes.
This last minute day trip was one of the best days of our 2 week trip to Italy. It was absolutely beautiful, the views were great, the vespas were fun, and the guides were great as well. The only thing I would say, is that if you have never ridden a vespa before, you may be surprised. Almost all of the women in our group rode on the back with a male. My sister and I managed to learn as quickly as possible, but it was not as easy as we had hoped. Driving in traffic was also kind of dangerous after just learning how to ride, that being said, no one got hurt and now it is a memory we will have forever! We tried to get the chance to ride vespas again while on the trip because we all had such a blast
Jimmy our tour guide and Vespa instructor was amazing! He was very welcoming and made sure you were comfortable driving the Vespa before beginning the tour. It rained during the Vespa training, and he ensured our safety by not rushing us through the instruction and practice. He even waited till the rain stopped to make sure we were safe, as the roads were slippery. He even noticed I had no jacket, and even offered me his daughters just to ensure I was comfortable, dry and warm . The views were amazing and we felt like the locals driving around town. Highly recommend this !
Highly recommend this amazing tour for a different perspective of Florence! Driving the Vespas was a blast and safe! Our guide Edourdo took us to Fiesole then to the Plaza of Michelangelo for the different views. He truly was knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Florence!
Love, love, loved this! I can't explain how breathtaking the scenery was as we rode to Friole. After they determined I probably shouldn't drive, I rode with my husband, and my 18 year old son drove with his sister on the back. I am glad I did not drive, we did hit a lot of traffic getting out of Florence. I could have ridden all day in the countryside! One of our favorite things we did on our European Vacation! And don't miss the view when your guide tells you to walk up the hill - it is worth the uphill climb!
