The trip at halong bay was a great experience but the bus that we traveled hanoi-halong bay and halong bay-hanoi was terrible. The seats are SO CRAMP and so SOLID HARD, straight up right, making our waist and ass pain like no tomorrow. I even shifted to an empty seat but the driver asked me to f off to my original seat in no way polite. The seat remained empty the entire journey back to hanoi and we have ache all over our body.
With pickup from Hanoi, this tour offer an amazing chance to visit Halong Bay! The drive was a little long (as expected) so bring snacks/entertainment.. You'll probably spend most of the return trip sleeping though. Great food options for lunch and happily catered to dietary needs and preferences. If it wasn't for the inconvenience surrounding our transport in the morning, this trip would've been a flawless 5/5.
We had a great time in general, guide Benjamin is very nice and easy-going, he greeted us in Spanish ;) and the cruise was good, especially its food, a fulfilling lunch indeed. The visits were good, we enjoyed the bamboo boat and the visit to Thien Cung cave. For us it was very good! Thank you!
David was a great guide giving us lots of history and information and had a great sense of humor. The boat cruise among the limestone mountains was breathtaking and the meal they served was delicious and filling. We hiked into the Heavenly Palace cave and David pointed out many formations. From there we went to an area to ride in a bamboo boat or kayak, surrounded by the monoliths. We were able to rest on the 3.5 hr. drive back to town. A full, but fulfilling day!
Very well organized, the food on the boat is great, the guide is nice but somehow i feel they are away from complete experience as thailand offer. I am not talking here about the nature, but about guides attitude, informations, history. In vietnam the guide is not telling you stories, he is just a person who takes care of you. We would like to hear stories about those places, about history, way of leaving etc.
Our tour guide Duong was very knowledgeable of the history of Ha Long Bay and the cave, encouraged us to ask questions; told us where to take pics; to summarize our full day tour, Ha Long Bay and the cave tour were great except for the very hot weather. I'm going back to Hanoi but not in August.
A well organized day only spoilt by the number of people at Halong Bay and stopping at a “rest stop” for 30 minutes on the way back.
Picked up at our hotel. Comfortable bus. Good commentary. Stopped at a rest stop on the way which was wall to wall carvings and paintings. Arrived st Halong Bay in time. In the boat. Set lunch which was okay. Tour of bay. Walk through the cave. Back to the hotel. The guide was great and informative
