the tour is cheap but deeply disappointing. we were first dropped off at a factory that claimed to sell local products made of bamboo fiber but none of the products are made in Vietnam, all of them are from China. then took a boat to an island for lunch, and then off to the small boat tour, which lasted all but 10 minutes. we were also brought to a small workshop that sells coconut candy and a place that sells honey and royal jelly, which is fine, at least these are actually local products made by local people. our hotel was not in the pick up areas but the agency made no effort to reach out to us and tell us that, we had to call a day in advance to ask and confirm the location their office so we can meet them up. so overall, very disappointing. you spend 60 of the time on the transit either bus or ferry, 30 of the time shopping or pretending to be interested in the products they are trying to sell you, 10 of the time actually enjoy the view of Mekong Delta
This tour was extremely good, and the value for what you pay is unbeatable it even includes an excellent feast of a lunch, water and tropical fruits and honey/ royal jelly testing. Sights visited include a famous pagoda, the Mekong Delta big boat and also a short trip with the small row-type boat into the smaller canals, coconut candy factory and the delta itself. Brilliant tour. And the guide was extremely funny and made the trip very enjoyable.
Our guide was nice and we got to see a few different things, but I was very disappointed with the very small amount of time we spent actually rowing the Delta. I don't know what other tours of the Mekong Delta offer, but we had completed a similar trip at an area near Hanoi referred to as Halong Bay on land and had spent almost 2 hours in the row boats. This trip we would have been in the row boats for no more than 10 minutes. I found that VERY disappointing, and had this been made clearer in the trip explanation i would not have booked it. Also the company the tour was booked through charged us for a transfer from our hotel as they pre-advised they would of 140,000 VND. As we had no idea of the actual location of their office we were fine with that. Until we got put in a taxi by the company at their cost and the fare came to 29,000 VND. Felt VERY ripped off!!!
