We enjoyed our Pearl Harbor experience very much. We were not happy with the contact from the provider. We did not receive our flight information until the day before our tour even though we had contacted them two weeks out. Some of the response to our inquiries was with rudeness. The process of receiving our airline information was not communicated to us until we contacted Viator directly. They then "hooked us up" with the Hawaiian Limousine Service giving us the information we needed. We talked with others that had the same experience with their booking. The Pearl Harbor experience was quite hurried. We wish we could have had more time on the USS Missouri. The ability to catch different shuttle buses was not clearly explained. The Pearl Harbor tour was a "must see" on our list.
When I landed in Oahu, no one met me and I saw no vehicles waiting. Finally a call from wife who had booked the tour for me saying that the operator had called her wanting to know where I was ! in fact, I was at the arrival concourse after the flight they had booked, which was on time . Finally connected with the tour operator who was parked around the corner out of sight. Breakfast was a can of juice and a cellophane bag muffin. At the entrance, I got tickets for the Memorial, the Battleship Missouri, the submarine, and the Aviation Museum, along with instructions to be at the Memorial at the assigned time and be back at drop point by 3:30. The lunch was a to be one hot dog and an order of nachos - really?. Fortunately there was a nice bistro nearby and I was able to walk off site for actual food. The memorial and the museums were great - a lot to see in a short time, but that was what I had signed up for. I passed up the cheesy souvenir mug that was offered, but did get a quick city tour as we returned folks to their hotels before I was dropped off at the airport. Our previous Viator experiences have been very good, but this one did not meet my expectations.
This day trip is a great value when you want to see everything and only have 1 day to do it. But is not for folks who like to travel heavy or who are not actively mobile. This tour is a very full day but delivers a lot of value on many fronts. NOTE: No bags including purses are allowed on the USS Arizona so don't waste time bringing a bag or purse that must be checked unless you absolutely need it. We kept things only in our pockets ID, , etc. and carried a camera. Our flight to/from Oahu from Kauai was short and pleasant both ways 35 minutes in total each way. Our driver, John, picked us up in the morning and upon arrival at the Pearl Harbor facility was great at orienting us to all of the activities for the day. He gave us our tickets and did a great job of in advising us how best to manage our time and see all 4 memorials. We managed to get everything in, but after the visit to the Arizona, we chose to spend more time on the USS Missouri and the Bowfin, than at the Aviation museum personal choice. Each memorial moved us deeply, in fact, more so than we expected. We were so glad we could take it all in. The lunch that was included hotdog and nachos was a good value, but the breakfast muffin seemed like an afterthought. We would have preferred a local baked treat or perhaps a muffin from Costco because the quality of the muffin we got was like a convenience store brand. Didn't taste or look good. But that was truly the only down side to this very memorable experience. Our driver, Andrea, did a great job of greeting us at the end of the day and took straight to the airport in plenty of time to catch our flight. We highly recommend this trip if you are on Kauai! Thanks, Viator!
Long Day from Kauai but Royal Limosoine did an excellent job of taking care of us. John our driver was in contact with us as we disembarked plane and picked us up at airport. Very easy transfer and then he did a great job of summarizing the day and getting us all prepared for tours. The whole day was about the right amount of time to see most of the Pearl Harbor sights. It is tough to do all but we did get to Arizona, 2 museums, Missouri, Air Museum and Bowfish sub and museum.
