We found several tours similar to this one but this was the most competitively priced. There was plenty of opportunity to walk around the various sites and our guide was quite flexible in what we did. The only downside is that we ran consistently late due to traffic and the late arrival of people at each of the stops. This resulted in only having 35 minutes at Nara, our final destination. Overall, we felt that this tour was a very good value.
The attractions we visited were nice, it was the tour guide named Ryan who messed up. It was my first time to be on a group tour everywhere in the world but it was my first time not to be given a sticker for easier group recognition, and to meet a guide not holding a flag or anything so he can easily be identified and found especially on crowded tourist spots. He didn't give much information about the place and just kept on saying we could go ahead if we knew the place already. He smelled cigarettes too everytime he boarded the bus.
