Best experience in Kyoto!!

My 1 day experience in Kyoto would not be the same without Mie (Mia)!!! She was “my friend for a day” in Japan/Kyoto!! During the day we could visit most of the popular spots in Kyoto. Mie is super knowledgeable about the Japan history, culture, traditions and customs. She patiently explained me the details about each of the venues. We had a great lunch experience at Nishiki Market which I super recommend!!! Mie also took great pictures for me!!! I enjoyed a lot the day, and I’m grateful to have had the chance to share the day with my new friend in Japan! Thanks Mie!!

What an amazing experience. We were very fortunate to work with Mie. She not only provided information on the top ten things to see in Kyoto, but gave us insight into Japanese culture. She provided flexibility when we wanted to spend more time at a particular location. She helped us understand the language. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience 一期一会.

Winter blues AKA: stuck in Kyoto

What started as a nice, relaxing and informative tour ended up a travel nightmare as we experienced the winter storm of Jan 24, 2023. What should have taken 14min via Shinkansen - Kyoto to Osaka - took 7-1/2 hours, to include abandoning the train and miraculously finding a taxi driver at midnight willing to drive us an hour away to our destination. With so much to see, taking a guided tour around Kyoto is a great idea and ‘our guide, Mikie, was fabulous.

Midora was an excellent guide. Attentive at all times, the tour was spectacular showing the best sites for a full day tour. Midori showed me around and commented on the story behind each site with many interesting anecdotes. I definitely recommend this tour with Midori who has an excellent treatment and is always ready for you to have an excellent time throughout the day and the best recommendations. Besides, she is an excellent photographer! :). I trully recommend her .

We were so fortunate to have Yoko as our guide. This was probably the best tour we have ever had. She was kind, and extremely informative on each of the 10 sites we visited. We also had two children and she was so patient and understanding. My family visiting from the US were very impressed with Yoko and really appreciated having her to make this visit worthwhile.

Major Kyoto sights in a day

A whirlwind Tour of the sights of Kyoto. We could not have achieved this in one day on our own. Beautiful locations and a lovely host. Naoko was warm and generous. She made us feel welcome and did her best to accommodate our needs. We were a family of 2 adults and 3 children. Lunch was delicious. The commentary was interesting. It could have been more inclusive of the children, such as stories and narrative of the locations. Thank you for the lovely tour.

Akiko was waiting for our arrival and for the next 8.5 hours was charming and engaging with her presentation of the tour. She was well organised and made sure we saw and understood the story behind each sight. The time went very quickly and you felt like Akiko was part of the family. Great experience.

Akemi provided a great tour of Kyoto! She was very knowlegeable about the area and the sites, giving a "local's" perspective of the city. Also, she was a great conversationalist and showed interest in me as a person. This faciltated more interaction and she identified what would interest me personally. The tour was also notable as Akemi struck a balance between mingling with the tourists and pointing out Kyoto's best kept secrets. The use of public transport for this tour (which was indicated up front on the toyr description) maybe a turn off to people, but I felt that it added to the tour's charm of being able to navigate the city like a local. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visitinig Kyoto for the first time and may potentially be overwhelmed from all teh choices of temples and shrines in the city. I will very likely do this tour again if back in Kyoto. Arigato gozaimazu, Akemi!!!

We are a family of four with two teenage daughters and we recently joined a one day tour with Akiko. Akiko was very knowledgeable and friendly and willing to accommodate what we were interested in on our tour of Kyoto. Some highlights were the golden pavilion, bamboo forest and temple and we made an adjustment to our tour due to the new years celebration to include the 1000 buddhas which was awesome. We all highly recommend Akiko and this tour.

This tour was an efficient and thorough 1 day overview of the top places to see in Kyoto, and Mikie did a fantastic job guiding us around on it! Mikie is a great communicator and was knowledgeable in explaining the history and significance of the different places we visited. Nao was very friendly and very prepared. She had great visual aids to explain cultural history as well as fun stories on the origins of some Japanese traditions. Her lunch recommendation for sushi was top notch. She adjusted the tour to our preference as needed. Highly recommend.

Outstanding, great value-for-money, day visit of Kyoto

We had a wonderful visit of some beautiful locations in Kyoto. Our guide Naomi Nakamura was extremely well organized, efficient, very knowledgeable, energetic and had a great sense of humor. Highlights of the visit were the Kinkakuji Temple, the Arashiyama bamboo forest, the Tenryuji Temple, the Fushimi Inari Shrine and the Kiyomizudera Temple. We learned so much during this visit and would like to thank Naomi-san for her patience and kindness and would her and this visit heartily.

I can’t say enough about this tour and our tour guide, Midori! We were a family of 5 total (incl. two children ages 7 and 11). Midori was wonderful! She took us to many wonderful places/points of interest in Kyoto while taking the time to explain everything to our children as well. My son even forgot his Nintendo switch gaming device in a taxi on the way to one of the temples and Midori went WAY above and beyond in assisting us in getting it back, even working on this and contacting us the following day with her findings and where we could pick it up! Beautiful city and a great tour! Thank you EETours and a very special thank you to our fantastic tour guide, Midori!

Thank you for your great comments.I appreciate that your small kids walked a lot although it was so cold and sometimes rained. When I knew your son had lost his Nintendo gaming device, I had no words.( A little kid lost his favorites on Xmas Eve…too sad.) Midori gave us a fantastic Kyoto tour! We saw some of the most beautiful sights of Kyoto that would have been difficult to reach our own is such a short time! She was an extremely hospitable and gracious host who shared Japanese culture with us! We had a teen with food allergies and she was so kind to help us find restaurants that were safe to eat at. We highly recommend Midori for a tour of Kyoto!

Kyoto is really a gem with so much history and architecture coupled with natural beauty. Our Guide, Akiko-San was REALLY amazing!!! Thank you Akiko-San for so efficiently showing us the top 10 spots without rushing us, allowing time for pictures and helping with them, organizing our most excellent lunch and dinner restaurants, and making each one of us feel your personalized attention to detail!! We leave Kyoto after this tour so much richer in historic knowledge and experience, wealthier in memories photos, and most importantly, most memorable cultural experience and interactions with Japanese people through Akiko-San.
