Our Guide Lius was amazing. He was fluent in seven languages and so knowledgeable. There were six of us in the group. The van was very comfortable with great oportunities to get out and explore the sites, churches, castles, and other cultural and historical sites. We ate lunch at oldest restaurant, Cafe Matinho da Arcada. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the city and the guide made our time wonderful.
With limited time in Lisbon we wanted to make the most of it and this tour was perfect for us. Our guide, Luis Pinto Coelho, was unbelievably knowledgable about the history of his country, which suited us very well. We got to experience all the well-known sites of the city, plus others that you will never get to if you just take the buses. It was also an extremely hot day when we took this tour but we got to ride around in air-conditioned comfort.
Luis was very personable and also ensured we had a chance to taste the famous Portuguese custard tarts (they are delicious) and suggested an excellent restaurant for lunch. All in all, a very good value and one to be recommended.
My wife and I were in Lisbon for two nights on a TAP Portugal flight stopover back home to Chicago. I booked the full day tour through Viator and we were greeted by Luis Pinto Coelho as our tour guide. What we did not expect was that we would get a private full historical tour of Lisbon and cover just about everything one would want to se. Luis could be a history professor with his knowledge and ability to describe the sights in Lisbon. We received way more than we expected and truly felt we had seen the city in its entirety at the end of the tour. I would highly recommend Luis Pinto Coelho as a tour guide, just be prepared for a history quiz at the end of the tour. If there are any questions about this review, please contact me.
Our group consisted of just two couples (ourselves included). We were picked up at our hotel promptly at 9am and returned around 5pm. Our driver/guide was well-informed about local history, spoke excellent English, managed to get us "in the side door" at numerous attractions, and took us to an excellent restaurant for lunch. On the whole, a very pleasant and educational tour. Highly recommended, especially for someone having only one free day in Lisbon.
There was one minor problem: the booking site provided only a telephone number for directly contacting the tour operators. It stressed the importance of confirming one's reservation with them by calling this number at least 48 hours in advance, but despite multiple calls--beginning 4 days in advance--we were unable to make telephone contact until the night before the tour. It would have been easier if they had provided for confirmation by email.
We were fortunate to have Louis Pinto-Coelho as our tour guide. The tour began on time, actually 10 minutes early. He provided an excellent tour of the entire city of Lisbon. Louis gave an in depth and knowledgeable explanation of the history of Lisbon and for each site that we visited. At the end of the day, I felt that I had truly seen Lisbon! I highly recommend this tour and Louis Pinto-Coelho as a guide.
We were the only people on this tour and our guide Diogo came and picked us up from our hotel after which he introduced us to all the attractions of Lisbon. He was very informative and took us to the oldest restaurant in Lisbon and we had an excellent seafood lunch.
Will highly recommend this tour.
