I thought this deal was too good to be true, but it was just that good! The first thing our driver, Peter, said when he pulled up was "I'm yours for the day!" He was incredibly friendly and very accommodating. He made great recommendations about scenic places to stop and gave us great information about the area. I had an easy time communicating with the company once I booked through Viator... before you book you have to ask questions through Viator which was a bit time consuming but still easy. Big pros: 1) You can make your itinerary completely unique. 2) We were able to do a pick up in San Francisco and drop off in Sonoma... this allowed us to fill our 8 hours with 4 wineries! 3) The service was fantastic!!! Small cons: 1) Not being able to communicate directly with the tour group before booking. 2) Setting up and scheduling your own tastings (not a very big con, I enjoy trip planning so this was fun for me!).
Spent a wonderful day in Napa and Sonoma and visited 4 vineyards! Alex was very knowledgeable and accommodating and we had plenty of room in his Suburban for our family of 5. Please note the vineyard tastings “included “ in the price were very limited so all our tasting fees were extra. (Approximately $25/pp per vineyard)
We had a great / fun day overall. Alex, our driver, was extremely pleasant and did a great job getting us from place to place. As part of the trip description, Viator needs to do a better job explaining how the process / cost structure works at the wineries so the consumer can better understand the true cost associated with the trip.
Stellar!!! From the service, ride, sights, details, etc. This was one of the best things my husband and I could have done. Our driver was amazing and had a wealth of information about the area which made us feel more like a local rather than a tourist. They helped plan most of the details of our trip and we were super pleased with it all!
The experience overall was excellent. Our driver was early for pick up, very knowledgeable of the area, and accommodated all the things we asked for. Could not have been better. I would give it a 5 stars, except for the lack of interface between the service provider and Viator. Viator did not give the provider my email address nor did the pass on my payment information so I was asked to pass on my credit card and contact information via email, The information was needed to cover the 'mandatory' 20% tip which is not included in the price of the service even though it was mandatory. It would be better from my view if all the mandatory fees were actually covered up front and I did not need to manage additional payment information via email.
