Our guide, Manu, and driver did a wonderful job of hitting and explaining the highlights of Old New Delhi and then New Delhi. While fast paced, there was adequate time at each major stop to see, learn and ask questions. A very remarkable history with ancient sites. Manu was great. It is a long day, but we'll worth it. One fascinating note for us was the absence of women in old Delhi and our guide explained that the culture and religion dictates that women stay inside their homes. We felt safe and welcome everywhere.
I booked this tour through Viator as it was 5 Star rated. It included Old Delhi and New Delhi both destinations. It went exactly according as mentioned in itinerary.
The driver picked me up at correct time from my Hotel in Delhi and he offered me bottled water throughout the whole tour which was very nice.We met our Guide who was very passionated for his Job.He was knowledgable, dynamic, funny, such a perfect guide. At monuments our guide help us to snap photos through our phone. The Rickshaw Ride and spice market was best part of Old Delhi.I get to know interesting facts and stories of several monuments.Lunch was also good.Company owner greet us and took our feedback when tour ended.I would highly recommend this tour and want to say thanks for such mesmerizing memories.
We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour with Yag as our guide. Yag was born and raised in Delhi, and it shows. He provided insights that we would not have otherwise gotten as outsiders. By the end of the tour, we were friends. Highlights of the tour include Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and the Red Fort. If you are looking for a comprehensive look into Old and New Delhi, this is the tour for you.
Memorable trip to New and Old Delhi!!! The whole tour was really well organised by A Star Tour Company by instantly confirming tour and provided pick up details prior to tour date. I had a very nice and knowledgeable guide and skilled driver who knows ins and outs of Delhi well.I would surely recommend this tour company.
Great tour.. After booking them, i got instant confirmation from supplier A STAR TOUR then, after few mintues got my transportation detail with pickup time. On the day of tour guide came to hotel pickup us then explained us overview of our tour which was quite understandable what we were going to do and see.We started from Old Delhi with tuk tuk ride which was very impressive and enjoyable part of this activity. Guide explained us each sites with brief and driver kept us safe in car and drive with comfortable. Overall highly recommendable tour. Go for it.
We were very excited about this tour however we were a bit let down. Our tour guide was not very enthusiastic about the tour, city, or the sites - maybe it was because we had such a fantastic tour the day before, but we didnt feel like he was very excited about it. We also were very in the dark the entire tour and had to ask every time we got back into the car where we were going next. We took this tour on a Sunday and the price per person was 60 - which coming into it we thought was reasonable. We knew there would be some tips/entrance fees to pay for, but there were a lot of little extras we weren't prepared for. For example, we had to pay someone to watch our shoes, and for a covering to go into the mosque, even though we were wearing jeans and t-shirts, all very well covered. We then learned that several of the places on the itinerary were closed as the city was getting ready for Independence Day. I understand how we didn't know this - but the tour company should have known this and adjusted the price. We could not enter the Red Fort, Lotus Temple, or get close to the India Gate all because of this. Additionally, after the tour we realized we never even saw Qutab Minar, which was on the itinerary. Lunch was the best part of the tour - Lutyens Cocktail House - go there note this was not included in the price. What really ruined it for us was the driver at the end of the tour. He dropped us off at the airport, and we tipped him, which we thought was a more than reasonable tip for our driver we had also tipped the tour guide separately, which resulted in not a thank you, but a complaint that it was not enough of a tip. I was unfortunately very disappointed in this tour and would not recommend anyone spend more than 30 on this tour. Its not worth it.
Great experience Everything was really organized they was on time to pick up at the hotel. The driver was really polite our guide had a great knowledge about history and other factors about the India, he was always open to answer any question, Great experience.
Thank Mr Asim and Viator for organized our wonderful time in India
Couldn't be better! Our driver met us at the Taj Palace Hotel promptly at the scheduled time. The driver took us to meet our guide, Ankush. It was clear within 5 minutes that Ankush clearly had a grasp of the sites of Delhi and that he was a professional. Our driver was just as pleasant and the air-conditioned vehicle a MUST during Delhi in June! was clean and cold. Ankush showed us the sites in Delhi in a planned and logical fashion. Our tour started at 9am and completed by 3p we skipped lunch.
We have traveled all over Europe and had used Viator/Trip Advisor for many many tours. I can honestly say that with Ankush, the all-important backstory for the sites was throughly provided and making the tour feel complete. Anyone can simply point out sites and obvious architecture. Knowing and understanding the backstory for each site requires thorough knowledge of the subject. With Ankush this tour was a joy! Well-recommended!! A
I had a great day on my tour! I was going on a small tour of Old Delhi the next day and was going to see the Jama Masjid, so we just stayed in New Delhi and saw some of the sites. We did the following:
The Laxminarayan Temple, and my guide Yagayasharma explained some of the Hindu beliefs that we saw represented in the temple
Ugrusen Baoli, a 14th century step well
The India Gate, and we drove by the area near the headquarters of the President and other government branches but because of traffic and security, we couldn't go past a certain point
Humayun's Tomb and Isa Khan's Tomb in the same complex - I LOVED Isa Khan's Tomb, and I had some time to walk around and take photos
The Lotus Temple, a Baha'i temple built in the shape of a lotus flower, and we went inside for a few minutes of meditation
As with many of these kinds of tours, we stopped at a textile shop, which is kind of part of the business. I bought a couple of t-shirts and ties but politely declined anything else. Don't feel pressured to buy, it's part of the deal, and after a while, the vendors get it. They had some fabulous prices on suits that could be hand-tailored that day, so if you're on the market for a suit, definitely check this place out! We also had a stop for lunch I ate at a place called Pindi that Yagayasharma suggested, and it was fantastic before they dropped me off at my hotel around 3:00 PM. With the traffic, the heat, and everything we did, I was ready for a nap!
Yagayasharma was very knowledgeable and patient, and he was a great guide. He shared a lot of details about what we were looking at and was very helpful in answering questions. Kishor, the driver, was polite and professional. Altogether, I had a very good experience, and I would recommend the tour!
