highly recommend this tour. Our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and entertaining. Because it was the end of the season it ended up only being the two of us and he continued with the tour regardless. We saw Monets house, gardens and water Lilly’s as well as his grave site. Worth a visit! Can’t thank Viator enough!
This tour was by far our favorite tour in our visit to Paris. Our guide was very interesting and full of knowledge of the French countryside and all things Monet. The gardens Monet created were beautiful and relaxing, and it was so inspiring to see where the man himself got his inspiration. The view from his bedroom window is so peaceful, and I kept thinking how I'd love to wake up to this view everyday! The short trip to his gravesite and the old church was very touching. Our guide explained the memorial to the downed British pilots, who were shot down there the day after D-day. This was such a wonderful visit, and we ended up having dinner with a fellow traveler from our tour. Don't miss this fabulous tour.
It was really nice to have a small group half-day tour. It was supposed to be 8 people, but 3 didn't show you HAVE to be on time!, so it was even smaller! We got to Giverney AHEAD of the big bus tours, so you could get a quick look before the masses arrived. I would go to the Japanese garden first since it's the most popular and easier to get around with fewer people. Better pictures, too. Our guide Guilleame was really pleasant, well-informed and drove safely. We also stopped at the little church where Monet is buried. There was also a memorial to an RAF plane that crashed nearby in WWII.
The cafe where you meet for the tour not far from the Arc de Triomphe but I can't remember the name is open early. So get there ahead of schedule and you'll be able to stop in for a coffee and croissant.
Yas, our guide was a fabulous host. Yas was wise in a very punctual start. The drive was smooth and fun to Giverny. He was knowledgeable and kind. Yas shared facts and an understanding of the Monet Life. Yas made all of us feel very comfortable, we could ask him questions with great ease. Yas also helped us with a few concerns in Paris.
This was an exceptional excursion because we were the first group to visit the gardens and Monet's home so I had the opportunity to get some awesome photos before the crowd of tourists arrived. Nicholas was our guide and he made sure we were well briefed on details and was very in tune to our group! A must do for sure!
