We had planned our San Antonio trip June 2018. We purchased our River Cruise and 2 days of Hop On Hop Off Bus trips online April 23rd. After the online purchased, we traveled to San Antonio and followed the online directions on receiving the hard copy. We exchanged the online tickets for the hard copy on April 24th. We clarified the River Cruise and 2 days of Hop On and Hop Off purchase and the woman gave us a map.They even gave us a 3rd day of Hop On and Hop Off free! April 26, 27, and 28, we found out through our B and B, they were NOT running ANY of their bus trips. So, in reality we had 1 day (April 25) to use the cruise and 3 days of Hop On and Hop Off Bus stops. We purchased the tickets as a package through TripAdvisor. The TripAdvisor site gave us all the information we THOUGHT we needed. The woman at the ticket booth in the store NEVER told us about the canceled services even though I spoke to her about our dates and adventures. April 25 was the scheduled cruise. The woman who gave us the tickets said we can use the bus trips after the 25. We told her we were leaving Sunday. She said THAT was fine. Very disappointed.
We use Viator often and always have great results. We had two different drivers one was really good, customer driven - The second was ok but no awards. He really doesn't like customers to wave for him to stop--claims he is not a 'dog' so they simply need to raise a hand - not wave. He announced this to the bus before the customers boarded but then reminded them not to wave for a stop?
This was our 2nd trip to San Antonio this year and our 1st time on this tour. It was excellent. We felt that most of S.A.'s downtown points of interest were pointed out to us. And withal day to tour, get off when we wanted and back on when we wanted, we felt in charge of our schedule. Our tour guide was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable, as were the ticket agents we initially talked with while buying our tour tickets. All in all, a success experience.
