I loved this tour! I can eat a lot of chocolate in one sitting but even I eventually got to the point where I had to save some chocolate for later. Lots of samples make this well worth the money!
Amazing tour with a wonderful guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about chocolates and its origin. Went to several of the small chocolatiers as well as bakeries. A definite stop for everyone visiting San Francisco.
Really great! Didn't think we could ever max out on chocolate, but there we were, unable to stuff ourselves with any more amazing chocolate samples! Great little walking tour of downtown and an overview on the chocolate making business.
You will get educated by Maggie who knows everything about chocolate. Anybody that likes chocolate will love this tour.
Wow, our guide Maggie was super! Her knowledge of chocolate was very informative and she really took her time answering questions. All of the stops were absolutely delicious. Do not take this tour if your not a big chocolate fan! You will eat so much and still go home with more!
This was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours in an up and coming neighborhood. Tour guide was very nice and well organized tastings were excellent except wine and beer flights at end - choices were just not to our personal tastes. Theme was new trends in food in Hayes Valley, which was fine, but she was not able to answer questions about the licensing process for new restaurants/food shops in the area. Since she made a very big point about the fact that they do not allow large chain restaurants in, it seemed like a logical question, but she didn't have a clue about the governing body or how they had the authority to pick and choose licensees. She did select an eclectic group of tastings, and they did follow the theme of local grown/made foods and her stated trend of knowing where your foods come from.
Loved this! Marie was wonderful, knowledgable and we had plenty of chocolate to eat. Everybody had a very good time and I learned a lot about chocolate that I didn't know before! Do it, it's fun...it's not for young children but older teens and adults will enjoy.
Ahmet was our guide and he was so knowledgeable about all things chocolate. If you don't have kids, this is the chocolate tour for you! It's basically a 3 hour dessert with a bunch of cocktails! You start with a small history of chocolate and are then introduced to tasting techniques. The cocktail and first two types of chocolate were very interesting together and it was fascinating how each type brought about different flavors in our drink. We finished with 5 or so wine pairings with a different type of chocolate for each. This tour blew away my expectations.
