My cooking class with Joungy was even better than expected! The location was inside a market next to Ahyeon station. There was only one other student allowing for lots of personal attention.
Joungy showed us the ingredients she was buying from the local merchants and then took us to her teaching area in the market.
We made an appetizer(stir fry glass noodle and vegetable), main dish (spicy stir fry pork), dessert, (crepes with nuts) and kimchee. The recipes were easy to follow and I think I could easily re-create them at home. Some o the ingredients will have to be purchased at an Asian market but I live near plenty of those.
After preparing each dish we paused to eat it at her dining table. Delicious! She gave us our kimchee in containers to take home.
Joungy is a great teacher. Her class is very well structured, the explanations very clear. The dishes we prepared were delicious. A brief introduction on Korean cooking basics would make the class even more perfect, but this would also require more time. The Namdaemun market tour at the end was also very informative. Highly recommended.
