Yes! No Mafia makes a solid case for community action against criminal activity ... the tour was very enlightening.

Yes! It was a great tour. It went beyond the movie versions of the Mafia and told the stories from a Sicilians perspective. The “No mafia” movement began with a small committed group who stood up to the fear of criminal activity ... and the community began to protest the criminal activities, when the socio-political events of the day strengthen the anti-mafia effort.
After this tour you will have a much clearer view of the mafia and the recent developments to stop these practices in Palermo. The guide was very knowledgeable. However, I experienced the 3 hours as quite long as there are no visits included to e.g. the Palace of Justice.
We took this tour a few weeks ago. Before the tour began our guide checked in everyone. I had booked and paid for the tour on line weeks before. She insisted I give her my ss number or passport number. I said no and she wasn't too happy. The tour itself was interesting but too long (3 hours)
Our tour guide Stefan was extremely informative and was patient with all our questions. We learnt plenty about another side of Palermo and the thinking in the of brave, intelligent people who lead this new direction in the society. Bravo Pizzo and bravo Stefan!
