Our party of 6 adults and 2 seniors were picked up on time from our hotel in Sydney. Comfortable, air conditioned bus with large windows for viewing the sights. Sydney traffic is always bad, but Hayden our tour guide kept up a constant dialogue to keep us occupied. Hayden's commentary was part history and part stand-up comedy, and kept us entertained the entire tour. The Lunch stop was in a small Blue Mountain village with a number of very good restaurants to choose from (Loaves and Dishes Cafe has a delicious Kangaroo Burger Lunch special). Scenic world was fabulous and we rode all the rides. Lots of photo opportunities and the trail hikes are tailored to fit the group.
The mountains and countryside was beautiful. Les was our driver/guide and he was great. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and lots of history to go with it. We really enjoyed it. There was more walking than we thought it would be, but we were ok with that.
Our guide Simon was amazing, very knowledgable and great at his job! Weather was very poor but Simon made sure we saw as much as we could. The steepest train ride was the highlight! Make sure you wear closed shoes, if you go on the bush walk...our friend wore flip flops because she had blisters, she ended up with a leech stuck on her foot, but Simon saved the day and knew what to do. The river cruise was lovely in the way back, sailing under the Sydney harbour bridge, got some great photographs! Would definitely do this trip again, on a brighter day it would have been spectacular!
Your guide Lesley was brilliant and one if best guides I have had on my extensive travels. He was very knowledgeable and funny at the same time. Despite poor weather in the afternoon he tried to make up the day by a visit to the Olympic village which was v good.
We enjoyed our Blue Mountain Trip. The scenery was great. We took the option to hike down to the Katoomba Falls, we would have
liked more time for this. we were looking at the time as we had to be back at the bus for our return journey to The Parramatta river.
The river cruise back to Sydney harbour was great. We stopped for a nice lunch break in Leura. In fairness to our driver we were delayed in Sydney looking for two women who had boarded the wrong tour bus. We had to spend over an hour looking for them. They were lucky to have a kind driver who took the time to find them. I think because of our late departure we didn't stop at Wentworth falls.
Kudos to our driver, some drivers would have put the two women down as a no show.
