タオルミナ中心部のポルタ・メッシーナの近くでおもてなしをするプロのシェフと落ち合い、シシリー料理満喫の一日がスタートします。屋外の市場を歩きながら、様々な果物や野菜を見て回る間も、食べ物を売る掛け声が聞こえてきます。材料を選ぶシェフを手伝って、食事にうってつけの季節の野菜を決めましょう。

近くのレストランまで歩き、次のステップ、クッキングが始まります。エプロンを着けて、おいしい食事を作る準備をします。すばらしい野菜を育てるシチリア独特の地形と土壌について学びましょう。火山性の土壌は野菜の生育に最適な肥料となります。なぜシチリア周辺の海が、地中海でも最もおいしい魚介を生むのかが分かるでしょう。

野菜を切ります。パスタを作ります。肉や魚を焼きます。季節の材料によってメニューは変わりますが、パルミジャーナ・ジ・メランザン(ナスにトマトやパルメザンチーズを重ねて焼いたもの)、パスタ・アル・ペスト・ディ・ピスタッチ--パスタ、ピスタチオ・ナッツで作ったペスト・ソース添え--などの料理はご期待ください。

料理が済んだら、レストランのテーブルの席について、おいしい食事をご堪能ください。地元産ワインと一緒にお楽しみください。食事やワインの試飲を終えると、クッキングと食事の体験は終了します。レストランを出る前に、このコースを終了した証明書をお受け取りください。

It was a good experience with a personable chef/teacher. The dishes we made were tasty, the wine was a good addition. From others we met in our travels, that attended other cooking experiences, it seems we did the minimum and other classes offered more dishes and a wider variety. I thought that during the session, that we would do more dishes, but it was confirmed.

A really interesting half-day starting with a trip to the local market. Domenico was really generous with his time and we learned a lot. The cooking session was also really interesting as we learned to make Sicily style pasta, caponata and baked sea bass. The restaurant was great nd is certainly go back there to eat

Every aspect of this class was excellent. The instructor, Dom, was charismatic and knowledgeable, and began the day with a nice visit to the little Taormina fish and vegetable market, offering plenty of tips and responses to questions. Back at his family restaurant, the class was held in a very pleasant semi open-air setting, and he coped very well with a fairly large group of 17. We had hands on involvement in all three course - handmade pasta; an entree of caponata; and an interesting fresh fish dish. The class was varied in age and nationalities and the atmosphere was extremely congenial, with a nice lunch and wine to conclude. Would very highly recommend.

I really enjoyed participating in this cooking class we prepared lots of different dishes really showcasing many styles of Sicilian cooking. Such a fun day!

This was an unforgettable late morning and early afternoon with the most personable chef/person that you could imagine. Much thanks to Dominic Siciliano, owner and operator (with his family) of Ristorante Nettuno. Dominic, we hope to stay in touch with you and repeat any and every time we return to Taormina. Thank you so much for such a special memory.

What an excellent experience! Cooking with Chef Giovanni and Lucca was fantastic. After a trip to the outdoor market featuring Sicilian vegetables, fish, and meats. We baked the bread for the Ristorante Porta Messina. Then we cooked swordfish rolls, baked a fish under salt, made homemade macaroni and sauce Norma and eggplant parmesan. Eating all that we created was certainly satisfying. I must say it was delicious! Wish I could have eaten more. Sadly we did not take away what was left. What were we thinking!?Highly suggest this tour. It was enjoyable and informative. And did I say FUN.

Perfect format for this class! Love going to the market and hearing about the indigenous foods and where they come from. Learning how to make pasta was great and something I take home to my own kitchen! Really appreciate the family heritage of the Nettuno restaurant where the food was prepared... and the meal was delicious in the end!

This was outstanding! Excellent chef who gave us wonderful instructions. The walk to the market, learning the cooking techniques and of course, eating!! Yum! Don't change a thing!! So wish we could go back and do it all again. This was a highlight of our 3 weeks in Italy and Sicily, and this was by far the very best tour.

Wow what an experience! Nima met us in town to go to the local market. He taught us how to choose the freshest vegetables and fish. After purchasing the things we were going to cook, we went back to the kitchen/restaurant where his mother guided us on how to make fresh pasta, fresh tomato sauce, grill the fish and make eggplant caponata. We then sat down to eat this delicious meal. We would absolutely do this again!
