Nori was excellent. She made the tour very interesting and fun. This tour is the way to go because exploring on your own, you would miss on so many different things that were unexpected. Going early was a good idea since the market wasn’t very crowded.

Delicious and informative tour!

We took two 15 year old boys to Japan, and signed up for this tour. Our guide,Tad,was very kind and sought to learn the boys' interests and engage them. He was knowledgeable and patient, and helped us to navigate what otherwise would have been an overwhelming experience. When he did not know the answers he would ask the vendors, and assisted the boys when they wanted to buy items. We appreciated his making sure we enjoyed the market visit. The tour included five samples including a demonstration from a chef about how to create our own sashimi bowl, which was a lot of fun and delicious.

I highly recommend this excellent tour. It was interesting to see the numerous types of sea creatures and fish that form a big part of Japanese cuisine. Our guide, Sara, spoke excellent English and was knowledgeable and efficient. We also toured the hidden Shrine which we would not have found on our own. The food was delicious

I wanted to know how to get the most from the Tsukiji fish market, and this was perfect. The tour was about 4 hours, and we ate a few samples here and there and ended with an informative sushi experience with an Itamae, and ate the meal that was prepared before our small group. I used the experience to come back to the market several times, and felt much more comfortable because of the tour. Cameo was our guide, and she was very sweet and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the tour.

Our tour guide "Star" was great...Highly recommend this tour

I woke up super early 5:30am from my jet lag and was looking for a tour and lucky I was able to sign up for a tour that started at 11am. Key thing please make sure your are there a few minutes early, the tour start literally at 11am. The meeting place is very easy and your tour guide holds up signs. Our group was small only 3 people, but our tour guide was great, her name was Star (Forgot her Japanese name) and she was very knowledgeable about the history of the fish market. She also spoke English fluently. I wasn't 100% sure if we had to pay for food or not, don't worry this tour comes with food. We also didn't have to wait in line. Our guide went to the front and signed some papers and we got food, the food was decent size too, not small sample sizes, but a decent amount. I came to the tour pretty hungry and left the tour pretty full. Star was also very adaptable, if we saw something that wasn't included on the tour, she took her time and translated for us. I wanted to try some Otoro sushi, and she took us to the best place to buy the Otoro, the tour took about 3 hours total and we ate lunch at a sushi spot, and had dessert at a Strawberry Mochi place (again food was all included) the tour ended visiting a shrine and star said her goodbye and Star left us with a bookmark she made by hand from Japanese paper. It was very thoughtful of her. I enjoyed the tour a lot. I got to eat and understand the Japanese culture a lot. I highly recommend this tour. Hopefully you get a great guide like Star.

Fun and delicious day in Tsukiji

Yoshiko gave us a great overview of the food stalls and vendors in the Tsukiji Outer Market. Most fun was sampling (beef skewers, yakitori, seasonal fruit, giant oyster, fish cakes). Ended with a relaxing sushi lunch which was good, though the stall offerings were the best. Visited a small shrine focused on food gods as well.

A lackluster trip through the market.

A guided tour through the fish market that I feel like I could have mostly done myself. Our guide was very nice but it would have been nice to get some more stories and anecdotes about the market.

We didn’t want to spend that much time at the temple. It seems like we would have a decent time on our own just wandering around. It was nice to see the tamago getting made, that we would not have seen on our own.

We tried several different snacks wagyu beef, nuts, fried pastries. We also had lunch in a Japanese style restaurant, very cool. Learned about the history of the fish market and local area. Great way to start my trip!
