We were picked up at a central location and taken to a beautiful country home. There were 8 of us, but they provided personal service. We cooked, we laughed and we drank wine. What could be better. The chef and interpreter were hysterical. They provided instruction and historical information of paella, in a very humorous way. Wow, wow, wow, very yummy paella! A must do activity!
This was the highlight of our Spain trip and exceeded our expectations! It is as advertised and more! Maria, Rafa & Roberto were so much fun. We had a lovely afternoon in the country, learned all about paella and enjoyed delicious food and drink in good company! We felt it truly was an authentic experience with people that know exactly what they are doing. Not to be missed!
We went to this as a family. We were picked up on time and driven to the house with Maria. She gave us interesting details about the area on the drive. The cooking was fun and entertaining with Maria, Rafa and Roberto. They gave us yummy appetizers and wine and beer during the class. They also told us everything about paella from the history to how to eat and judge good paella. The food was great. Both kids liked it too!
What a fabulous experience ! From the time we were picked up at the Cruise Terminal until we were returned to the same place, our hosts were friendly, engaging, knowledgable and FUN !! We had a great day and great food !!
The chef picked us up at our hotel and drove us to his farm. There we learned to make Sangria and Paella. The class included a history of paella and the traditions involved in sharing and eating the dish. The chef only spoke Spanish but his interpreter Maria was great. Fantastic experience!!
Both Maria & Professor Paella were knowledgeable friendly and fun. Can't wait to get home and start cooking, and as new ambassadors we have already spotted posers. Best thing we have done in Spain.
WOW! This experience with Rafa was Maria was truly the highlight of our entire trip to Spain. We would highly recommend. Everything was so well organized, planned, and put together. Once you are promptly picked up from your hotel/hostel by Maria, you are driven about 30 minutes outside of Valencia to a home in the middle of an orange field where you meet Rafa, aka Professor Paella. Your work stations are set up, and you're immediately offered snacks and drinks. The entire experience was filled with laughs, great food, new friends, and a new love for the art of creating paella.
