Lunch is inbegrepen.

Fantastic Day

I had an amazing and quite moving day learning the history around the Death railway and bridge on the river Kwai. The tour delivered as promised - I was picked up promptly from the hotel by my guide Pearl and we departed for the allied PoW cemetery some 2 hours drive away Throughout the journey Pearl kept me occupied with facts and conversation. After the cemetery visit we went to the JEATH museum, which is small but still worth the visit .We then had a boat ride to the famous bridge, where I had time to walk the bridge itself. A journey on the infamous Death railway followed where again Pearl kept me updated on facts and points of interest After the train journey we stopped for lunch at a nice local restaurant before the longish drive back. A packed and fantastic day - with a great guide!

This is well worth the car time to get there (about 2.5-3hours each way). You have nice, however not too long, river ride to the bridge, then the train ride. Guide was helpful in explaining the history.
Good but too short to see all of it

Guide was good, driver was good. However to drive from Bangkok, see all the stuff included made the trip feel a bit rushed.

Although this trip was an early start, 6.30 pick up from our hotel, it was well worth getting up for. By leaving Bangkok early we were able to make good time as the traffic in Bangkok is dreadful. Our guide Suki and driver Sukisan were both excellent. Suki was a mine of information and pointed out places of interest all day. The war cemetery and museum were very thought provoking, the long tailed boat ride to the bridge was invigorating and the train ride was an interesting ride through the countryside. A great day for those interested in our war time history. A mention also for Sukisan whose excellent driving got us there and back safely and his negotiation of Bangkok traffic was second to none!
Really Enjoyable Experience

The moment we were picked up the day we thought the day was really well planned out. Its about a 2 1/2 hour ride out to the area. You stop first at the well kept memorial gardens to pay respect. Then onto the museum and boat ride which was a nice way to travel up to the River Kwai Bridge before disembarking for a 1/2 hour photo opportunity and a chance to walk across the bridge. It was followed by an hour train ride on the Death Railway before arriving at our final destination for a very well prepared and tasty lunch. The guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and overall a very enjoyable and at times moving experience.

This tour was very interesting...

This tour was very interesting. Growing up in America we never realized that Thailan played a role in World War II and that there was a bridge that was built during this time frame. While it was very sad, it was nice to see and learn about this history that affected and killed so many people. The train ride was beautiful.
