It was an amazing tour especially seeing the street life and also local people's expressions. Tour includes various approaches about art, culture and history. It was also great to learn different aspects of Serbian culture and street art in general from a professional point of view of the tour guide dear Ljiljana. She has various kinds of knowledge to share and it was inspiring. Not only about street art but also in a general way, she enlightens me about many things. The tour also allows you to see the different parts of Belgrade as a street museum and you can have chance to see what other tourists cannot see. Tour duration is totally great because it gives you opportunity to see the streets in details. Also, this kind of tour which is about street art of a city are very rare and I highly recommend this tour to learn about street art in details and also culture and art in general. With this tour, I learned walls can talk in a very different way that any other art forms and make the street tell about people and itself.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone, who is interested in street art or art, culture, and history of Belgrade in general. Before the tour, I thought that walking around for three hours might be a bit too much, but time passed very fast and after we finished with the tour, our group decided to sit down for some drinks and further discussion, which shows how inspiring everything we saw and heard was. Ljiljana has superb knowledge of street art and history of Belgrade and Serbia and she can really well contextualize everything that has happened in local street art against the backdrop of global art trends and historical events. Not to be missed!
Four of us visited Belgrade in 2nd week of June and we had opted for the private tour to Novi Sad and Vojvodina, a day excursion from the city, offered by Explore Belgrade.
It is a fantastic tour, the drive through lush green agricultural Serbia is lovely, the destinations en route are very interesting and steeped in history. For the buffs, it is a very fascinating insight into regions past, the glory days, turmoil and upheavals.
The most credit for making this an extraordinary tour however must go to our guide Соня Девиц Sonja Devic. Her passions, her deep involvement and insight into the subject, along with her comfort with English language certainly made the tour far more fascinating. She was ever smiling, articulate, quick wit and interactive. She added another interesting facet to the day by introducing us to Cyrillic script! That is of course how I learnt to write her name in Cyrillic
I certainly recommend the tour as a must do excursion and if you can, insist on being guided by her.
This tour of Belgrade was a great way to get acquainted with the city. I had a layover in Belgrade and wanted to see some of the city while I was there. They picked me up at the airport, we did the tour, and they delivered me back to the airport afterwards. Sonya the guide and George the driver spelling is probably wrong on both names...sorry : were great. They are very passionate about their city and country. Great tour. Thanks to both!
Ljilja is an excellent tour guide and we ended up seeing way more than expected! Her PhD research explores street art so she is very knowledgeable on the subject, both in Belgrade and more broadly. She was able to speak knowledgeably and clearly on the topic, and answer all questions, as well as offer tips for further exploration. I live in Belgrade and whilst I'm generally aware of the amazing street art the city has to offer, the tour really opened my eyes to its hidden gems and I find myself noticing things more when I'm out and about. So glad I did this tour and can't recommend it enough to anyone living in or visiting the city. It's really great to see a tour that is focused on Belgrade's cultural offerings and one that is so well put together by experts in the field.
I figured out that I will be having an eight-hour stopover at a relatively small Belgrade airport during my business trip. Instead of staying at the airport, I decided to visit Belgrade during the time between two flights. I found on the Viator's website exactly what I needed - a Belgrade Stopover Tour. The booking process went smoothly and and soon I was emailed a voucher for the tour.
I was welcomed at the arrival hall by driver, Mr. George and local guide, Miss Sonya.
The tour was excellent, and as described on the website. I saw all the main parts of the city, visited Belgrade Fortress and the huge temple of St. Sava. I was really surprised how impressive was the view from the fortress to the Sava and Danube rivers. Too bad it was windy there and a little cold. Since I was not adequately dressed, I urged the guide to hurry up. We also visited the pedestrian zone with the picturesque street of 'Knez Mihailova', where I had some free time for individual exploration, refreshment and souvenir shopping. Local guide was great, she has succeeded in bringing me closer to the complex and lasting history of Belgrade in an interesting way. The driver was very polite and attentive and his driving safe and moderate. The car was clean, air conditioned and really big. They brought me back on time to the airport for my next flight. Everything was very professional on their side.
I recommend this tour, much better option than staying at the airport. Belgrade is a very interesting city, with nice atmosphere. In my opinion, it deserves another visit in the future and a perhaps a weekend stay.
Street art is something I absolutely LOVE, and I seek it out in every city I visit. But never before had I taken a guided tour - and with a bona fide expert! This was a GREAT experience and my fantastic and intellectual tour guide was eager to customize it to my interests - I told her I would love to buy some art, and so she brought me to an extremely cool little gallery with all sorts of offbeat and quirky items that I NEVER would have found on my own. Highly recommend this tour!
This tour was a very special and emotional experience. The amazing and extremely knowledgeable tour guide cared deeply about the subject, and I learned so much from her. I am so glad that I chose this tour during my short visit to Belgrade!
