Small-Group Full Day Gallipoli & ANZAC Battlefields from Istanbul | feb 2020
The tour was fantastic our tour guide was very knowledgeable and would highly recommended the operator except I’m so disappointed I paid over twice the price going through Viator than I would have buying a ticket from the hotel the operator and everyone else on the tour paid it was a rip off!

15,000 step walking tour with minimal time at sites

star-2knikkih
Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | feb 2020
This really should be advertised as a walking tour - although the ad states that users need to be able to walk, we didn't see the bus/van after it dropped us off at our first stop. My biggest issue wasn't the itinerary - the sites are absolutely amazing. But we were given 10 minutes of free time at Hagia Sophia and rushed out of the underground cistern without any free time whatsoever. Then he took us to a "bonus stop" to see how Turkish rugs are made, but it's really just a place for hard sales and took WAY too much time that I would have rather spent at the sites. Tour was nowhere close to eight hours, due to the minimal amount of time spent at each site. Absolutely would not recommend this tour company - so very disappointed in the entire day.

Getting around

11-Days Classics of Turkey Tour From Istanbul - 4 Star Option | dec 2019
A good way to see of the major sites, and covering a lot of ground. Both our tour diector Ismail and our driver, were both very good.Managing the disparate needs of a large group. From transfer at the airport, to return transfer ,all for our individual flight times. The hotels were good, apart from Capadoccia, which was disappointing and isolated, and Kudasaki, where there is a wealth of better options. We did seem to spend an inordinate amount of time, at workshops, high priced retail outlets, time which could have beeen better employed at the places we wanted to see, and given the amount of sales generated, at these outlets, to internet savvy tourists, perhaps everybody's valuable time, could have better employed. I gained a lot of insight from Ismail, history, geography, culture, all delivered with a sense of humour, a true professional. The optional tours, eg Balloon, Ephesus appeared overpriced, given local rates for the same experience, about twice the price. Nevertheless, in general brilliant driver, excellent tour director, plenty of pit stiops on long drives. As a keen photographer, i was disappointed at our stop in Pergamon, whch completely ignored the main site at the top, one of the reasons for going on this tour. Also the decision not to vist Gallipolli, which was steamrollered through, without a debate, at the behest of more well heeled clients. Both these places were major reasons for electing this tour, which were outlined in my itinerary, plus free entry to Ephesus, although i had to pay another 75 dollars, to actually see it. I appreciate the time constraints, and travelling long distance, but , these are major selling points, and the reason for picking this tour.

This tour operator subjects you to an hour long carpet sales pitch

star-1missguam09
Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | dec 2019
I take 20+ tours per year for work and this was one of the worst tours I've ever taken. Shame on this tour operator for limiting our time at the Hagia Sophia (Istanbul's crown jewel) to 20 minutes, but subjecting us to an hour long carpet sales pitch. You will notice the itinerary makes no mention about making an hour long stop at a government subsidized carpet shop. After rushing you through the Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern, your guide will subject you to an hour long carpet sales pitch in a show room full of pushy salesmen trying to sell you overpriced carpets and jewelry. Upon completion of the tour, I returned to my hotel with a bad taste in my mouth to be informed by the front desk staff that the tour operator takes a commission on carpet sales. Terrible experience -- do yourself a favor and book a tour with an alternative company that is transparent on its itinerary and what to expect.

Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | dec 2019
The tour was almost exclusively a walking tour and so it was tiring for elderly persons. At times we were left on our own to see things when we could have been accompanied and given explanations on what we were seeing instead of being provided with information only before entering to see things. The visit to the carpet outlet was a waste of time as was that to the Grand Bazaar.

Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | dec 2019
This is my second viator tour and most likely my last, these narcissistic guides are only interested in their speech ,to the point of rudeness. they don't want to stop running their mouths to even answer your question .I'm 68 yrs old and don't think I need to raise my hand to talk! And if they would just shut up once in a while then maybe they could show some reverence or at least let the customer

A very good tour

Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | nov 2019
It was a really nice tour, we visited all the attractions mentioned in the description. The tour guide was really good and he gave us information and history about each place. Of course because we visited many places in only 8 hours we didn't have much time to spend on each place but if you are looking for a one day your in Istanbul that includes everything I believe this is a very good option for you. Please note that this is a walking tour and also if you are not staying in the European side of Istanbul you need to call them to pick a meeting point. My only negative comments are that lunch was average and this tour is a bit overpriced since most of the places we visited had no entrance fee if you were to visit them alone.

Get your Steps in

Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | okt 2019
I loved this walking tour of the old city specifically the area that reflects the cross cultural elements such as the Roman Hippodrome; the Sultan Ahmed Mosque; Hagia Sophia, and the grand bizarre. What I did not like was the stop over to learn about carpets which is nothing more than a sales pitch and not on the list for the tour. This added stop cut into our time at the Bizarre where you could also rug shop. I would advise to forbid the tour guide from I assume benefiting from these unplanned stop overs.

Small-Group Istanbul in One Day Tour Including Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia | okt 2019
Tour was good, as it was a small group. Having been on a number over a few countries, you can tell when the guide loves his work and not just going through the motions..... sadly it was the second. Negatives: guide, sales pitch at carpet makers (guide on commission?), not returned to hotel and whilst close, getting lost before flagging down a cab Positive: small group, great history, loads to see within a small area

Great Day in Ephesus

Kusadasi Shore Excursion: Ephesus Sightseeing Tour | okt 2019
We had a very competent tour guide which helped explain the history of the area. We saw amazing ruins and realized how advanced the ancient people and city was. We found Western Turkey to be a beautiful country with lovely people. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and experience Turkish coffee and the history of their rug making.
