This was an expensive tour and I was...

This was an expensive tour and I was expecting to receive what was described in INCLUDED as it was supposed to be a 6 hour tour. This included a bottle of water, a bottle of wine, a telescope, and a professional guide. We got to the Salt Flats and as they were filled with rain water, we had to stand to see the stars, the guide didnt even give us some camping chairs to sit down on. I suppose they expected us to stand there for 6 hours. The stars werent that bright as it isnt the best season to see them, however we at least expected some kind of information on the stars as they give information during the day tour. But our guide didnt even know the names of the most basic constellations. Our guide was kind but he did not even know that water and wine were included in the tour, nor that we had paid for 6 hours of stargazing. He did not have a telescope either. Basically we paid 180 dollars each person just to be driven to the salt flat at night, to see the stars for 40 minutes and return back to Uyuni completely dissatisfied. Complete waste of money and time as we could have seen these kinds of star with much more comfort and enjoyment from many places. It was unacceptable, that we didnt even recieve the things that we had paid for when we bought the tour. Very disappointed.

We followed our day tour with this...

We followed our day tour with this night tour. Woscar, our guide was a really cool dude who has done many, many tours. As you can imagine, at night it gets cold and our night was no exception. He brought us to a section of the flats where we watched some constellations set as their star light reflected on the salt flats. SO TOTALLY COOL! He had a laser pointer for outlining the various constellations and I also brought my own. The Milky Way was the longest and brightest I have ever seen it anywhere. Literally, from just about horizon to horizon. Woscar also had boots for standing in the cold water. Mine were a bit small so you might want to email sizes ahead of your trip. Wine, cheese and snacks under the stars was unforgettable and an anniversary memory for sure. Remember to book your trip around when the moon is NOT around or rises late as we did. A repeat experience if there was one. I tried posting pictures to both reviews but this site replies with a permissions error. Sorry.

Private City Tour La Paz-Bolivia | apr 2020
We enjoyed our Private City Tour with Daniel Dabalos-Bautista. He was very friendly and accommodating. Enriched us with the history and culture of La Paz. The cable car rides were awesome. Our driver was wonderful. Thank you both. Highly Recommended!

Uyuni Salt Flats: Full Day Shared Tour with english speaking guide | mrt 2020
Excellent experience with Joker Expedition. Our guide was Leroy, he was very knowledgeable and definitely very passionate about sharing the Bolivian culture. We rode in on the overnight bus from La Paz and were picked up as soon as we arrived. We were allowed to stay at a very nice hotel that Joker Expeditions runs out of and were even cooked a complimentary breakfast. We had a blast during our 1 day tour and were taken directly to our bus stop that evening to take the bus back to La Paz. Highly recommend Joker.

Never will use Viator again.

Shared Day Tour to Titicaca Lake from La Paz | mrt 2020
The worst of the worst. The company is called Joker Expeditions and it is a joke of a tour company. If you like to be lied to, not given what is promised, expect a 10 hour tour and it lasts a grueling 16 hours, misled by false promises and being over charged , then this is the perfect tour for you. To be specific, the website on Viator (which should remove this supplier by the way), states a 10 hour tour (approximately). We were picked up at 7am and dropped off at 11 pm. 16 hours, not even close to 10 hours. This is not good when you have a 7am flight and you have to get up at 4am. The tour stated that we would visit the Isle de Luna- another big lie just to get you to pick “the Joker”. We did not get to see it and that is the main reason we booked it. The picture on the solicitation page to get you to book is the “hook” and is totally misrepresentation and a fraudulent inducement to get tourist money. The guide laughed at us when we asked why we were not going to the Isle de la Luna. Another couple who also felt cheated showed him the printout of his reservation stating the all of us would be visiting the famous place ( indeed, it is where the Inca civilization began). The guide just laughed and walked away from the group. The tour propaganda wants you to believe that you will not be going via “public transportation”. False. We were put on a bus like Cattle from the city bus station. We even had to pay city tax which was not disclosed to us either. SURPRISE!!!! No toilet for a 3 hour bumpy bus ride with no toilet. WONDERFUL!!!!! I could go on and on because there was much more bad to tell others (like the bus breaking down about 1 hour outside of La Paz and nobody bothers to let the 40 people on the city bus know why). The “joker” does not want you to be happy or satisfied but rather miserable and surprised at every turn. It makes him laugh I guess knowing that he is screwing all of his customers while taking all there money to his bank. One last thing, you should have seen all the shocked and upset people at the bus station at 7:30am when we all learned we were going to on a city bus for 7 to 8 hours and not back until 11 pm at night; especially when all those who booked were lead to believe falsely that the tour was 10 hours or so. 6pm and not 11 pm is what was promised and expected and contractually agreed to. Viator should take responsibility for the suppliers it presents to all its customers. Viator makes money by its customers bookings. And Viator’s customers should have the confidence to trust Viator via its suppliers. Thanks to this tour operator “THE JOKER”, we can no longer trust Viator and will no longer be booking tours with Viator. And unless you like being cheated and lied to as well as being ripped off, then you too might want to stay clear of both (THE JOKER” and VIATOR).

4 Days Bolivia Private Luxury Tour with English Guide from La Paz Bolivia | feb 2020
Amazing experience with Joker Expedition. The Salar de Uyuni is one of the most spectacular places I have ever visited; the sunset there is a unique experience. The guides and drivers were profesional and caring. Also visited Lago Titicaca, Moon Valley and Tiwanaco; all different places and full of history. Highly recommended!

Private City Tour La Paz-Bolivia | jan 2020
I had a wonderful day with David and Sergio as they showed me La Paz as only residents can. First it was off to the famous cable car system to view the many districts of the city and take in some breathtaking views of Bolivia. From there is on to a local morning snack before heading out to the Valley of the Moon and area outside of La Paz which when attacked by erosion has left a moon like landscape. We then journeyed into the City Center to see the Main Square, the seat of government. We finished the day with a pizza lunch at the old train station which is now a cable car stop with some restaurants as well. This proved to be a 6 hour day and left some wonderful impressions of La Paz and its surroundings. I give this tour a 4 as cable car and Valley of the Moon tickets were not included, lunch and a hotel pickup and drop-off. The car was new and comfortable the team picked up right on time. I learned alot and had a nice with the two young guides.

Halved price at official bus website

Tourist Bus to Calama Chile from Uyuni | jan 2020
It was actually the bus by bus operator Cruz del Norte. No need to buy here with double price, although they will give you some snack and take u from the hostel to the bus stop. The transfer from the hostel to bus stop is unnecessary as the town is extremely small. Since I see the review in google that stolen items was always happened in Cruz del Norte, I tried to avoid booking that bus. It turned out that when I arrived the bus stop, it was Cruz del Norte. Why I need to book a bus that could be booked on the internet by myself with halved price via these tour operator. I felt myself too stupid. It is a monopoly bus line, so go direct to the bus website for tickets.

Best Experience Ever

Visit to Uyuni Salt Flats from Sucre by Bus | dec 2019
The tour was well organized and the best part of the tour that made it successful is our guide “Liroy” , he was literally an angel . He was so kind , patient and great photographer so he made our day. The only one Negative thing Was basically the office mistake as they didn’t mention that we will be picked up by a local bus for 7 hrs to Uyuni then stay in a hotel until tour starts then we will be dropped of back again to take a local bus for approximately 7 hrs back to Sucre. This was a big surprise for us as it wasn’t clear in the tour details plus the operator in La Paz office was extremely rude to us and he wanted to cancel our booking just because we asked for more details about the tour so it would be better to deal with tourists in more professional way .

Private Day Trip from La Paz to Uyuni Salt Flats by Flight | sep 2019
You get to the airport a little earlier than you want and get onto a commercial airline and get picked up to get to the breakfast which was not really american breakfast. It just has a few things including bread, musli, tea and coffee. Unfortunately I did not experience the champagne as stated and was served Bolivian wine and I am not really fond of wine... anyways after all that get dropped off at the airport to get back to La Paz

Not an English Tour

star-2bobscribe
Shared Day Tour to Titicaca Lake from La Paz | sep 2019
This was actually not an English Tour. There were 8 people on the tour - 7 spoke Spanish and I was the only English speaker. I felt like an outsider on the bus and for lunch since all conversations were in Spanish. The guide gave me two sentence English descriptions of the sites on the tour. We did not receive bottled water or snacks which were supposed to be included in the tour. In fact non-alcoholic beverages were not even provided during the lunch. We also had to pay a bus tax in La Paz. All fees were again supposed to be included. You can probably do much better setting this tour up on your own. It probably would have cost less than half the cost charged by Viator. You don't receive very many services for the additional cost.

Long day

Shared Day Tour to Titicaca Lake from La Paz | jul 2019
Lake titicaca was nice. Copacabana is an over rated tourist town. The island we went to was nice but unless you are willing to hike 45 minutes up a hill on the island in high altitude and low oxygen you basically go to this island drink a beer at a hostel. The view of the snow capped mountain hovering over the lake from the island was terrific. But is it worth a 18 hour day in an uncomfortable public bus including a three hour round trip boat ride to the island? The tour guide was very nice and did a great job. If I were to do it over again I would have purchased a private car to take us to lake titicaca and back to see the lake in comfort. All who purchase this trip please be advised that viator is not providing private viator transport but is actually putting you on a public bus from La Paz to Copacabana. You could easily purchase this fare directly from the bus company and probably save lots of money. But if you are like me and living abroad the all inclusive price with a guide sounds attractive. I just want all to know and if it is ok with you go ahead and book this. I have nothing against the tour company and I am glad I marked off lake titicaca on my bucket list. But just want all to know the facts of this tour.

Visit to Uyuni Salt Flats from Sucre by Bus | jun 2019
This trip was excellent! They met us at the planned spot exactly at the agreed time. They thought of everything (including snacks for the road!) and were available on Whatsapp throughout to answer questions. Maribel, the guide, was knowledgeable and fun. I felt that this was the perfect amount of time to see the salt flats. The only thing that would have been helpful to know ahead of time is that the bus ride from Sucre to Uyuni (and back) is a shared coach bus with others who are traveling to Uyuni for other reasons and it is quite cold - layer up! There is also no bathroom on board. That said, I highly recommend this trip and this tour company!

Great Tour Guide But Rude Service

star-3ManiiRani1
Recorrido de un día completo al Salar de Uyuni (lago de sal) | jun 2019
I booked the tour for June 3rd and I had clicked on the option that said to pick me up from my hotel at 10:30 AM. I wanted to double-check and make sure that they were going to pick me up at the hotel and I called their office. The person who picked up the phone was VERY rude and said, “Manisha, no seas desesperada” (Don’t be desperate) and told me that they are picking up other people and that they will eventually come to me. I trusted him, but then 11:00 AM rolls around and I still do not see a car. I call the office again and this time he yells at me and repeats the same thing that he told me before. When the car finally came (at 11:10), there were two people in there who work for the tourist agency and were very polite to me. However, I was expecting the other tourists since the very rude man on the phone told me that they were busy picking up the other people which is why they were late in picking me up. I was confused and then I was taking to the train cemetery and the other tourists on the trip seemed to be waiting on me. The tour guide said that I didn’t have time to see the train cemetery but one of the drivers that picked me up said to the tour guide in Spanish, “We need to let her see the train cemetery or else she will complain.” She told me politely that I have 10 minutes to visit the area and to take pictures. To be honest, I didn’t really care about the train cemetery that much but I thought it was very unprofessional to make me feel bad about calling them for not arriving to my hotel on time. He could have been more honest and even apologized for running late. On the other hand, the tour guide was awesome but I absolutely hated the rest of the service.
