Marco is a great tour guide that has a very authentic way of sharing his knowledge. Going to Chichen Itza this early in the morning is really worth it because you miss the crowds and the heath! I highly recommend this tour!

Taking the early tour was worth it. Our guide was Marco and our driver was Carlos. It was fun and informational at the same time. We learned so much. We would recommend this tour anytime!!!

From the beginning to the end, this trip was 100% worth it! Frank, our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about his country and more specifically teaching us about the Mayan culture. We even got the chance to go to a small Mayan town to purchase handmade crafts. Book this trip!

I have never been on such an informative and educational tour. Marco is so educated and experienced and we felt like we learned so much more than we expected. Not only about Chichen Itza, but Myan culture. The whole day was just amazing! I'm so glad my children got to experience this!

Simply mind blowing !! Early start ideal as avoids the crowds and hottest parts of the day. We were first coach there. Raphael good driver. Photos with no one in background. Marco our guide has an incredible depth of knowledge of the Mayan culture which he imparts with great enthusiasm and clarity. The best guide weve had on any tour. Not too much free time .Nice lunch bag on our return and visited a Mayan community if you want souvenirs and also received a blessing from a local Shatan. Back at our hotel by mid afternoon.
An experience not to be missed. You leave Chichen Itza in a state of wonderment and excitement.

Coming early to the site was best choice for the low heat and visitors-free experince....and Marco, the guide....I have been to number of places around the globe and he is the best....he just caught my attention and kept it for the whole day....I got soooo lucky with him...

Awesome experience. Definitely better to go early and beat the crowd. It gets packed with people and hit later in the day. Marco was very knowledgeable and a really nice guide.

This excursion is a must. If you’re like me, the thought of getting up at 4am is the worst. I promise you the early access is worth it. We arrived to Chichen Itza around 8am and there was barely anyone there (the vendors selling souvenirs weren’t even set up yet). We split I to two groups, those who wanted the tour in English and those who wanted it in Spanish. Frank was out tour guide on the bus and for the English speaking group. He was amazing! When we first got there they gave us 10 minutes to get photos before people started showing up. I got great pictures in front of the large pyramid with no one in the background! Frank was super knowledgeable and funny at the same time. We spent a little over 2 hours with him telling us the history and pointing out the architecture. Then we had about an hour of free time. I’m sure others liked the free time but I found myself missing the knowledge that Frank had when I was alone. There are tons or local vendors lining the site - I didn’t find any of them to be too pushy and I liked the idea of purchasing from the locals. The only part I would say I disliked was on the way back we were told that we would be making a stop at a souvenir shop to use the bathroom and to shop. We spent 25 minutes here and you could tell we were only here because the tour company made a deal with this shopping center. 25 minutes felt like a long time, especially after most of us were exhausted from spending the past 3 hours in the heat. They did have bathrooms, but requested donations to use it. Frankly, they should have just called it a fee because you had to give them something to be allowed to use the restroom.Overall, even with the last stop this tour is a total must. Avoid the crowds and go early. Ramon, our driver, was awesome and I can’t say enough about Frank. Some of us purchased Mayan Calendars that represented a specific date and on the way back Frank took the time to thoroughly explain to everyone who bought one what it meant and what all the symbols meant. Definitely would recommend.

Beating the crowds (and more importantly the heat) is well worth the extra money. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and it definitely does not make sense to visit Chichen Itza without someone explaining the meaning and purpose.
