enkele misleidende informatie
, okt 2019
Gids was geweldig.
Great time

Superbe plantation and stunning oak alley! The mansion is well maintained. A lot of information well shared Don’t miss out the pralines in the gift shop. So far the best I had in Nola. No preservative taste and better price too! I regret of not buying more. The driver Steven was very nice knowledgeable and thoughtful Thank you!

Amazing Piece of History!
, jul 2019
Oak Alley is a must-see for those interested in learning more about the history of Louisiana. The property itself is so beautiful, with the oaks in the front being the real cherry on top. We loved that you were able to go inside the mansion and see the way that the previous owners lived. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgable about the history of the property and the previous owners, and you can tell that they love being able to share the history of the mansion and surrounding areas. We were also very impressed by the information provided in what was previously used as the slaves' quarters. This part of the tour was not guided and functioned as something you could do at your own pace, which I thought was great. The information was presented well and was not shy about discussing some of the more terrible things that happened during the period of time that the property functioned as a sugar plantation. The location had nice bathrooms, a large gift shop, and a small kiosk behind the mansion where you could buy mint juleps and other souvenirs. All in all, one of the highlights of our trip!
Excellent Plantation Tour!

Bus was comfy. Tour guide was knowledgeable about the plantation and New Orleans in general. Gave excellent instructions about the process, and had good food/drink recommendations for around the city.
Can drive over on my own
, jun 2019
Could have driven over on my own by renting a car for a day, the actual ticket price for oak alley is way cheaper and the bus ride was pleasant enough. Oak alley has an interesting walkthrough of how the slaves lived. However, I found the actual tour within the big house poorly done. The guide's southern accent was really thick (and I consider myself quite capable of listening to think accents) and he often lost all of us in his stories. The house interiors were quite plain and the stories were quite boring, the only highlight were the 14 oak trees, which drew us there in the first place. If you ask me, I would suggest renting a car for the day (you dont need a car in new orleans) and heading to whitney plantation instead.
Great Choice

I decided to do a solo trip to the plantation while in a conference, and this tour didn’t disappoint. The bus picked me up at the hotel, the driver was very knowledgeable, and time wise was amazing, I was back at the hotel by noon like clockwise. Very happy!
Longer than they promise - Southern Style Tours
, mei 2019
Southern Style Tours promotes a 4-5 hour tour. However they had 5 more stops (in addition to my 8AM stop) before leaving new orleans at 9AM. Finally arriving at 10:30AM it was a beautiful place . However they wanted to add their two Swamp tour couples to our bus making it a 2 hour trip with the detour. We left the site at 12:30 and arrived at the swap tour place at 1:30 with no traffic. We did not make it back to the quarter until 2:30PM. I suspect 26 people on the bus were also disappointed. I know tours take time, but with GPS maps and multiple people pickups there is no way this is a 4-5 hour hour. This is not due to traffic or inexperienced driver. I just wish they would have set the right expectation at the start. I see they later advertised a longer tour, but this was not the original plan booked.

The place was amazing! Our bus driver was really informative and helpful. It would've been nice if the tour was longer though-- lots of sights to see

I definitely recommend this tour. The tour guide Gary K is very nice and knowledgable! He is passionate about his job. The schedule is reasonable and I have a great trip to Oak Alley Planation.
