Boottocht was zeer geslaagd.
We took this tour on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Our tour guide was Angelo. He did not interact with guests, provided no explanations of the evening's process even though we did things in a different order than posted on the website, and obviously had a bad relationship with the driver. Our tour began on the river boat. This is a pre-recorded tour even though a very knowledgeable tour guide was present. We were sitting near her, asked questions, and she gave us lots of information. We then took the bus tour which seemed to be cut short towards the end. We then parked back at the boat area and Angelo, very agitated, told us we must hurry to get to the Eiffel Tower. It was a bit of a hike, up stairs, across two streets, and then a good distance to the Eiffel Tower itself. That was fine, we knew there would be walking, but this tour required running. Angelo was walking extremely fast and rushing everyone. A number of us couldn't keep up and got separated from the group. Fortunately, we were able to keep them in sight so we knew where to go. Turns out our group was scheduled for 9:00 and it was 9:15 - this must be why our bus tour ended so abruptly. We had a lovely time on a beautiful evening on the 2nd level of the tower. We had been told to be back at the bus at 10:30, so a few of us started back early enough that we wouldn't have to race to get back to the bus. We got a little lost, but got back to the bus along with maybe 8-10 others. Angelo and the driver got in a verbal fight and the bus left without the rest of the group. We were missing maybe 50 people. One man who appeared to have limited French and English had gotten separated from his wife and decided to stay at the drop off sight rather than leave without her. He appeared very distressed. Meanwhile, while we were driving back, the lower level of the bus was set up with tables with cup holders, obviously so people could eat a snack. One of the couples opened a bag of banana chips and Angelo came back and yelled at them, No eating. The driver is very angry. We were dropped off several blocks from the pre-arranged spot and told the metro wasn't too far. All that being said, the Eiffel Tower was beautiful. I am glad we got to view the city on a lovely evening but sorry we did it on this particular tour. Do not take the tour with Angelo!
Do yourself a favor and see these sights on your own. The 9/8/18 night tour through Paris was nothing more than a big traffic jam with canned commentary and annoying music that didn't appear to sync with what we were seeing. The boat ride on the Seine was OK, but could have been done easier on our own. The visit to the Eiffel Tower was a nightmare. The bus arrived at 10 pm, just as the Eiffel Tower light show was beginning. Instead of allowing the group to view the show, the guide walked at an extremely fast pace toward the Tower, crossing a busy street. I don't believe she ever checked to see who was following and who wasn't. When we arrived at the Tower, she handed out tickets for the 10:30 pm trip to the top and told us the bus would be leaving the parking area at 11:30 pm. At 10:30 the guide was missing in action. It took 35 minutes in line to get to the viewing platform and 35 minutes in line to get back down. We were with several other people from the tour bus. Couldn't find the bus upon descent. Assumed it left at 11:30 pm. Ended up paying almost $20 for a cab back to our hotel. This is not typical of our experiences with Viator. Was very disappointed!
