I was a bit disappointed with this tour.
First, we were calling Viator call center before booking the tour to ask exactly what cenote will we visit as we were interested to go on Ik Kil cenote. We were waiting for 20 minutes to be taken by an operator. The operator was nice with us and as helpful as she could, but unfortunately she lied to us. She was telling us that we will go to Ik Kill Cenote, but didn't happen. We were going to another one, to Selva Maya Cenote.
Secondly, as others were describing before is totally disappointing that they spend one hour in the so called mayan village for souvenirs and 30 minutes for lunch. Our bus came first on that day at the location. All way to this lunch place the guide was telling us information about Mayans and that we will gonna visit a Mayan village where we will take the lunch. But I didn't see any village. There was only a big store with expensive souvenirs. Instead of having the opportunity to enjoy Mayan culture, you are just forced to walk around that store. The things are so expensive that they offer you the possibility to pay with the card. This made the experience too touristic and spiritless. After on the lunch you are rushed to finish, because another group is coming. The food was good from my point of view, but the attitude is ruining all your day. Also, in the lunch the beverages are not included and are expensive. On top of that the waiter come at the end to take the money and because I just prepared the exact amount of money he was asking without any shame for the tip. Why would you ask a tip when you bring a small bottle of water that is 5 times more expensive than in another places and you don't give me at least a glass he just brought the bottle. I don't know about the others but this starting point ruined all day for me.
3. On Chichin Itza we had 1h 45 minutes to visit it, but we were staying with a local guide for 1 hour and 25 minutes and we got only maximum 20 minutes for ourselves. The place is nice and wide, I think that there is necessary to have a little more time for it.
4. The cenote was almost a joke. You have time just to touch the water and leave. We had allocated 45 minutes, but it takes you a while till you change twice. So, you will have time just to touch the water and get out.
Overall I didn't recommend it only if you don't have time and really want to visit Chichin Itza. Otherwise take your time and visit at your own pace. You will definitely have a better experience.
