Shabnam was fantastic in giving us the best tour. Lots to eat from the best curry puffs ever tasted to the Hindu church where we were lucky enough to see the whole ceremony. This is a must. Thank you Shabnam
This was a brilliant tour. Daniel our guide was so informative about the different foods we tried, regarding its heritage and preparation. He was also a proud ambassador for his country and gave us a great insight into life in Singapore. We went to five different eateries in the Katong District, which were highly recommended. All the food was delicious and varied. Tour took a little longer as we got caught by a rain shower. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to explore the varied cuisines available in Singapore.
Great food, very interesting guide, a great way to see Singapore off the beaten track!
Had to take a bit of a bus ride to get there but it was well worth the trip. Ended up have a personal guided tour of a non-commercial area of the city where the locals live. Got to try a lot of new and different foods -- including the dreaded Durian fruit. It is not as bad as they say it is! Got to see and learn more about how the local live, work, and eat. Well worth the experience. Just come hungry!
This is a tour of the local Malay area of Singapore. Our guide Khatijah was very knowledgeable. She showed us the Malay market and explained about the different foods. We got to try many different Malay dishes. When we became full she arranged for the food to be packaged so we could eat it later. There was some walking around the area but nothing strenuous. This was an excellent way to learn about the Malay culture living in Singapore.
We met at an Indian Coffee Shop in the Katong district where we had a traditional breakfast. Then walked around the district leaning about the area and the early settlers of Singapore. More food followed and a visit to an old home. More food followed, it certainly lived up to its name and we did not need to eat until much later in the day.
One of the best foodie tours we have been on. Kathy our guide was from the area so she could so much history and tidbits about the area, the people, the food. Food was excellent. Would give this tour a 12,and highly recommend
This is a 'must do' tour - and make sure you go hungry as there is so much food to sample you'll be pleased it's a walking tour!! Our tour guide, Kathy, was friendly, very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Having grown up in the area she was full of interesting tidbits which made the tour even more enjoyable. A highlight was the Peranekan house. An easy walk for all age groups.
