Singapore's Chinatown Trishaw Night Tour with Transfer | mrt 2020
The food was disappointing--it was pretty westernized Chinese food: soup of the day, a tofu dish, sweet and sour fish, chicken stir fry, and stir fried pak choi and mango sago. Nothing different than anything we could have got home in Scotland. There are so many other authentic, great dishes in Singapore that could have been part of this that would have made it better. In fact the tour guide mentioned a local restaurant which had been awarded a one michelin star which was inexpensive - this may have provided a more authentic reflection of Singapore. We also ordered two bottles of beer at the restaurant - got 2 pints and charged nearly 3 x the price of what we had originally ordered.
We were almost ready to give up the rest of the tour at this point, but it did get better.
The trishaw ride was one of the highlights of the tour.
After that we boarded the river boat which was the highlight of the night. It was enjoyable and provided great views of Marina Bay and the areas along the river.
Our lasting impression is that we could have done the trishaw ride and the boat tour on our own for much cheaper.
The tour guide did a good job - was informative and interesting to listen to....Meer lezen
