Tour guide was lovely, informative and respectful.Unfortunately tuhe driver was rude.Initially he said we could have drinks on the bus, but not food as the bus was new! However as i was struggling with a cold, I just needed to have fluids with me on trip. After our lunch break driver shouted at me and said I couldn't bring my tea that I had just bought onto the bus.I had to throw it away before he'd let me back on.I think that was very disgraceful and unprofessional!
Had a brilliant day in Liechtenstein and Heidiland. Our tour guide Walter was excellent and so knowledgeable. Liechtenstein was a lovely place to visit this time of year with all Xmas decorations and small ice rink. The only comment I would make is it would have been lovely to make a couple of brief stops for photos to capture the amazing scenery en route it wasn’t easy through the coach windows.
The tour is awesome, we met a lot of beautiful places! A quick tour through Zurich, a visit to Liechtenstein, one more city and Heidiland of course! The only feedback I have is that we only had 30 minutes in Heidiland. It is a really small village, but we went to the souvenir shop to get a few things and when I went out we only had like 10 minutes left so I had no time to get the tickets and get to the Heidi house and the other houses. Other than that, the tour was really good and the guide was great! We got a lot of interesting facts about Switzerland
The main excitement was to go to the small nation of Liechtenstein, where you can get your passport stamped in Vaduz for 3 euros, Swiss francs or dollars (dollars of course is the best deal). Plenty of selfie opportunities but not a lot to see in the time we had to spend there. Some may want to go on their own to be able to enjoy the museums and other attractions. But as Michelin might say, worth a detour. The area of the country called Heidiland is beautiful, but don't expect much from the Heidiland house, which is way up a very steep hill that probably only the fittest walkers can access. Yet the views were gorgeous and the day quite relaxing. Walter the guide and Armando the driver were a great team and they really helped make the trip special. My only regret is that the tour gets back close to 7:30 pm and I would have preferred it start an hour earlier so there was more time in the evening.
Peter, our guide and Erlango, our driver were both pretty good, courteous and professional. Again, Hans Meier staff were really caring and cordial. Would definitely recommend choosing this company for your tours over the other company, in terms of hospitality.
We actually didn't get to either one of the tour spots until the afternoon. We had 2 different tour groups in one - one for just CityRama and the other for the title tour. So we spent a bit more time looking around Zurich and then stopped over at Rapperswil - which was a nice old city as well. There were some unique new developments and older architecture maintained. Since this was a lunch stop, more time was definitely needed. Since it was around lunch time, the restaurants were quite busy too. It was raining and most of the seats indoors were booked as well.
From Rapperwil, we were taken through some hilly locations, where the views were pretty nice, but it was hard to take pics due to the weather, but Peter had a lot of guide knowledge to share, so it remained interesting. We stopped over at Lichtenstein first, which was a really quick stop for half hour and we couldn't really see much of a difference in terms of the country in itself. We did stop at a cheaper than usual souvenir store, but I wanted to see more of the country than just that. Next stop was Heidiland, which is a good memory for those familiar with the book Heidi. Definitely brought some memories. Rain was definitely a challenge to navigate with, but it was a good tour to see the location behind the famous book.
Although the company mentioned it is accessible, I think anyone on wheelchair would have found it difficult to navigate, so I wouldn't recommend to anyone on wheels.
The tour is well thought of with respect to the route with an excellent coach. The route is quite scenic and we got a pretty good weather throughout the day. We had few major issues though. At the first stop my wife and my 3 year old boy was locked out in the bus. The driver did not check that everybody had left from the upper deck. My toddler was sleeping and it took her few mins to pick him up with the bag and get down the stairs to avoid bumping into other passengers. I got down first and was waiting for her with my elder one when the guide started walking and taking the group with him. The driver got out and locked the bus from the other side door. I did not see him leave. She was locked out with my 3 year old inside. I was looking for the driver and the guide had already started walking and disappeared. I lost the guide and then had to find the guide to a 5 mins walk with my 5 year old. He called the driver to unlock the bus to get her unlocked. This unnecessarily caused us a lot of stress and wasted our 25 mins and we were not able to see the rose garden and the old town.
Liechtenstein trip was good and we got enough time to wander around. The key highlight was Heidiland but the main access road was blocked. The tour operator did not get prior notification of the road block so had to take a detour. When we arrived at Heidiland, after 10 mins the guide told us that we have to go back to the bus as few passengers had to catch a train to Munich and they were getting late. Although i understand 1 passenger had to catch a train, he should have kept enough margin and it did not feel that it was okay to cut everybody's trip short and asking us to rush back including elderly people and those with children. We did not get enough time to watch the view or go and see the Heidi house. We only managed to get few pictures. With two young kids, it was panic to get back to the bus running the entire 6 mins walk. The guide was knowledgeable and has a good sense of humour. If only he could be organised to check everybody and keep everybody together and give enough time to view the attractions.
