City Pass didn't arrive at my home address as requested. Acropolis pass not provided by Hop On Hop Off tour bus or at ticket box office. After trying several places to redeem/print entry ticket it didn't specify anywhere where to go we ended up having to purchase additional Acropolis entry tickets out of pocket. I am unable to complain to customer service about this tour, as it is not showing up in My Bookings. I would recommend choosing another tour where agents can assist once you arrive to Athens.
This is the worst hop on hop off comentary I have had - there is very little provided, the audio is poor quality and the bus driver frequently announces stops over the minimal commentary. Don't be fooled into thinking this includes passes to the Acropolis - it doesn't and you will still have to cue to get in and pay the entry fee. It was not possible for us to fit all the things into 2 days that the pass provides for so we did not feel this was value for money.
This tour was very confusing. The hop on hop off bus was great but the attendants had to call in our bar code on our voucher every time we got on the bus. We had to explain to them every time why we had a voucher verses a card. Several tried to get us a card but this tour was not in the system. We received no discounts on anything. We showed our voucher to every business and all refused to even check if it was a participating business. We got no discounted tickets, no discounts on anything, nothing! We tried to explain that it was a city pass but no one listened.
Hop-on-hop-off bus tours are always our first go-to thing to do, if for nothing else to get an overview of where things are and get a sense for the lay of the land. Obviously, roads are narrow and crowded, so depending on the time of year, it can take some time mostly sitting in traffic. This particular bus did not have all of the route options of the competitor, so it wasn't the best for using it to get from one place to another. The City Pass portion wasn't really needed by us, since we had a bunch of other excursions/tours planned, but would certainly be useful of you are planning to see a lot of museums which we didn't have time for, unfortunately!
