Our guide, Steve, was excellent. Highly recommend. Would have been nice to have a little more time to walk around on our own. Great tour!

I was hesitant to go but my husband really wanted to. Our guide was great. Transportation there with the group quick and easy. The guide was extremely informative.
Well Worth It

My only criticism is that we relied on the public Dachau city buses, to transport us to and from the train station. It was difficult accommodating a group our size, when competing with everyone else on such a popular route. On the return we had to let several buses, go by because they were already packed. When our group finally boarded a bus, my family and others near the end had to ignore a very upset bus driver's insistence that there was no more room. I think a private tour bus from a pickup point in central Munich directly to the camp, is better than relying on public transit, i.e. commuter train and local city bus.

Great guide and format. Our Guide had an Irish background and was excellent. Regrettably can't remember his name now. Oct 8 tour.

From start to finish the tour was organised and efficient. We were apprehensive this having been our first tour of a concentration camp memorial site however we were briefed on etiquette and made to feel at ease. The site itself was at times difficult to see and hear about however it was interesting history and we learned a lot from it. Our tour guide Keith was exceptionally knowledgeable and made this tour exactly what we were looking for. He was friendly and approachable. Overall I would recommend this tour and would go again myself.

We appreciated the thoughtfulness and respect that our guide demonstrated as we made our way through the memorial site. It's a sobering experience, and we gained valuable knowledge and insights from our guide that we would not have gained by visiting on our own. We highly recommend this tour - a great value for the price with a very qualified guide!

Our tour guide Nicola was very knowledgeable and this is a tour everyone should take. We should never forget the unspeakable and horrible acts endured by those who occupied this camp and all other concentration camps throughout Europe during WWII. It reminds us that it should never happen again.
Disappointed in their lack of flexibility

We were in Germany during Oktoberfest. They wanted us to meet them at the train station in Munich and then catch a train and then a bus to Dachau. We were actually staying in a small town that was closer to Dachau than we were to Munich. We asked if we could just meet them at the gate at Dachau and do the tour from there, rather than driving through the mess of the crowds in Munich. Which would have been very simple to do. They would not allow us to do so, so we ended up paying for a tour that we didn't get to take. We then drove directly to Dachau and took the audio tour. It only cost us 25 Euro for 6 people and was a great way to see the camp. Honestly, it's very simple to do, and if I had known this ahead of time I never would have spent the extra money to book through Viator.

Dear guest, we have to make sure all guests check in at our tour office in Munich, as described in the tour voucher. There are many thousands of people visiting the memorial site every day, and meeting guests there will restult in many guests not finding the guide in the area. We want to ensure everybody receives a full tour and experience what they booked for, and this is only possible if following the instructions and meet the guide at our meeting point. Best Regards, Daniel Holder

Sobering

As expected, the Dachau tour was sobering. Our tour guide Matt provided much needed context at just the right emotional level. It can’t be easy to do this on a frequent basis. That said, he did a good job. Here’s some helpful hints: be prepared to stand consistently for 4+ hours. As you check-in, you’ll be reminded that you won’t eat during the tour and to buy a lunch. Don’t do it. It will sit in your bag as there’s no time. Just eat breakfast before you go.
