What an amazing day on this tour. The tour guide had everything set up for the transportation, passes and tours. We were picked up from our hotel don't be surprised if the car is a few minutes late and ended up having a great day. The group size was small about 10 people including us and transportation made it so easy. We could not have asked for a more wonderful tour and the tour guide!
It is a nice tour if you have less time to see Paris. According to my experience, don't bring a young child with you, chances are they will be bored. Usually, Tour guide tries to cover fast, looks like we are going to run a competition. They don't care about children. Also, we didn't skip the line access in Eiffel Tower as they promised. And also I wanted to do some shopping at Montmartre, I asked the guide if I have 15 minutes to shop for something, he said, no we don't have time. After the tour, we waited for a taxi for 20 minutes. It's ridiculous. But still, if you have less time to see Paris then go with them. Otherwise, don't waste your money and time with them. I did six tours on my trip, this is the only one tour which I didn't like. And it's was my 3rd trip to Paris.
It was a good tour for those interested in seeing all the must see sights of Paris in a single day however it was not a complete success in that I felt that we spent at least half the time of the tour 8 hrs total waiting in lines Eiffel Tower was the worst. We had a different guide for the Louvre Sebastian who was clearly knowledgeable but I wish he had shown us a few more things in the time allotted. Geoffrey was our guide for Notre Dame, Tour Eiffel and Montmartre. Again, he gave some good insights but I still felt there was too much dead time waiting on lines and being left for lunch at 11am!. We also had a problem with a driver not showing up to take us to the next venue so we were standing on a curb for 20-30 min. While we got to check off those top tourist spots in 1 day, I'm not sure it was worth the high price tag.
A MUST DO if you are short on time in Paris and want to see these major attractions. Sylvanie, our guide, was spunky and sweet and so knowledgeable. She was well organized and always was working to get us a little bit of down time with recommendations while waiting for our buses. We went to the Eiffel Tower, went right in and up to the top and took our time going down. She knew great photograph spots, too and took all of our pictures for us. Louvre on this tour was a brief overview - if you want to see it in all its glory, book a private tour of this museum - but we saw the major attractions and got the feel for it. Sylvanie knew so much about the pieces and so much history. It was a joy. Notre Dam was gorgeous and peaceful...we did wait online here as there are no tickets, but it moved rather quickly. We ended the day with a brief stop in Montmartre which showed us glorious views of the whole city, a look at Sacre Couer and a walk through their artist square. A needed stop of crepes and ice cream, before our lovely walk thru this city, where our cars were waiting for us.
My only critique for the company: Establish a morning pickup time when booking or a mode of communication with client hotel phone or client email.. we did not have cell phone availability and the day before the tour we still had no idea what time we were being picked up. We had our hotel call, thankfully, and they established a pick up time, but the voucher did not even say to do this. It all worked out fine, but just clearer directions to the client would be appreciated.
Was this the most expensive 1-day tour of Paris on Viator? Yes. Was it worth every penny? Yes. This was my first time in Paris and wanted to make the most of it. Having a small group and front-of-the line access made it possible to not only see all the sights on this itinerary, but actually spend time enjoying them and not just rushing from place to place to stand in the long lines. But the best part was our guide Johanna. She spoke excellent English, was super friendly, was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and places we visited and even the exhibits we saw. She was able to guide us through the Louvre so we didn't have to worry about missing anything. She worked hard to make sure our drivers picked us up on time and got us to the next location efficiently. I would highly recommend this tour to anybody who has a day in Paris to spend!
Phenomenal tour, and we really did see the big tourist must sees in a single day. It wasn't even a terribly long day, I could have gone longer : I booked this for me and my 15 year old daughter. A driver in a lovely car picked us up at the front door of our hotel, and brought us directly to where our tour group of 6 others had gathered. We met our very nice and very enthusiastic tour guide Joanna was clear and concise and her English was perfect. We peppered her with questions all day and she was able to offhand answer the bulk of them. She certainly knew her way around things and went with the flow of our groups preferences. We never felt rushed at all, either.
We left the first meeting spot in a clean passenger van and were dropped at the Eiffel tower and went directly in, no waiting in ticket lines. We even had time to go to the summit. We saw every inch and it was terrific. We left the Eiffel tower after about 90 minutes and headed to the Louvre. Again, very little waiting, and Joanna guided us to the popular pieces at the Louvre, and showed us the oldest sections and shared really neat details about the history of the building itself. After about 90 minutes at the Louvre, and seeing the oldest sections of the building, the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and a few others that she was able to share information about re: their significance in art history and for their time period which we found very interesting, we were given about an hour and 40 minutes for lunch. Joanna recommended a few places and we had a delicious lunch we let our waiter order for us, such fun if you are an adventurous eater then we met again, hopped in van and a car and headed to Notre Dame. That was just wonderful, while there is no skip the line there, it didnt take terribly long to walk through even though the line was quite long. It moves slowly but constantly. After touring Notre Dame, our van and car came again and took us to the top of the hill at Sacre Coeur and our group opted not to walk through the church but wandered down to shops and got lovely crepes in the Montmarte district. It was a lovely walk and when Joanna called a private car to take each of us wherever we wanted to go.
The only improvement I would suggest is matching the size of the group to the vans provided. We spent too much time standing around waiting for two or 3 people who couldnt fit in the 8 passenger van. Over the course of the day, about 45-60 minutes was spent standing on the sidewalk waiting for the second car with 3 people in it to join us at the drop off spot. Otherwise, the guide Joanna was a joy and she shared such interesting things with us, it made the tour worth every penny.
