Saw whales!
, sep 2019
Great tour! Janelle was great. Such a lovely personality and had a lot of information that she shared. Got to see a mother whale and her babies and got to see them feed which was unreal! Such a clear day weather wise so really made it enjoyable. Nice sized tour where it didn't feel crowded. Journey back was speedy so was a bit nauseating but was so worth it! I organised bus pick up for next day so very last minute but they catered to it without any hiccups. Very professional set up once you arrived at dock too and had to sign in etc. Quaint village that you don't get much time in but can take a quick stroll around.
Not worthing

There is not any transfer possibility with tour to the pick up point which was so far from city center. Although the distance of our ship was so far compared to other ships to whales. Moreover for watching the whales from that distance 150dollars is so expensive
Best Whale Watching Tour on the Water
, jul 2019
*Small crowd size!! We saw about half a dozen other whale watching tour boats out on the water and they were beyond crowded! Prince of Whales for instance had so many people on it it looked at though no one could move around - and I remember I had almost went with them and they were more money. I’m so glad I chose this company! We had lots of room, and freedom to move around the boat. The boat had both an indoor area as well as an open upper deck and back of the ship. Our captain was Rick and our Naturalist was Grace. Both were incredible, friendly and very knowledgeable. We boarded the ship in Steveston and travelled close to Nainimo were we spotted 5 transient orcas. They respected the whales distance while giving us a phenomenal experience to be near these magnificent creatures. Grace was great at explaining what we were seeing, and the behaviours we were observing (there was an orca calf who kept jumping out of the water and she explained why they do that as well. She was knowledgeable when it came to questions as well). Best part is - they didn’t rush us. We all left feeling we had spent a good amount of time with the orcas. We also stopped to see a bald eagle and sea lions. We were running out of time and began our trek back to Richmond when the boat stopped again - a beautiful humpback whale had emerged, and despite us being behind schedule, they stopped and let us spend some time with that beautiful whale. We even got to see her breach out of the water - absolutely incredible to see. Grace again was very knowledgeable and was able to identify the humpback, and came over after we had left to show us how she identified the whale. Grace also took down email addresses at the end of the tour and sent us her photos she took from the trip as well, which I thought was wonderful. I really appreciated that they ended the tour with ways to protect the wildlife and things you can change in your day to day life to help. Strongly recommend this company! *also, this was my first time on a boat, and I was worried I would feel seasick. I also brought an 11 year old with me - we both took a single gravol one hour before and had absolutely no issues at all. Thank you guys for an unforgettable experience!

We were really apprehensive about seeing whales when we found out the previous day no whales were seen by the tour groups and 'guarantee' vouchers were given out. The day was overcast due to smoke from the surrounding forest fires which added a hint of gloom. When riding the shuttle to the departure area in Steveston we learn that some tour groups were currently viewing whales so our Captain would know where to go--things were beginning to look promising. After about a half hour boat ride we came upon a pod of Orca's that were feeding and occasionally exhibited showed some playfulness. They would surface, wave, a occasionally breach. After about 45 minutes we proceeded to another location and saw another pod which was larger and again seemed to be feeding. They were not as playful and tended to stay closer together. The shuttle driver, captain, and Naturalist on board were great and very open to providing information and answering questions. I would highly recommend this company for whale watching excursions.

What a fun adventure we had. The guides were wonderful and knew about the whales. They were friendly and we had water and snacks on the boat. We saw Killer Whales right away and got some beautiful pictures. I highly recommend this tour.

Unfortunately the toilet was broken and could not be fixed, so after an hour out on the water on the boat we returned to land. We decided to get a free voucher to come again to see the whales.
