London, United Kingdom
We were in London for the main part of our vacation. My wife's B-day was during the 10 days of travel so I decided to take her to Paris on a day trip for her birthday. I decided and booked the tour prior to us leaving the USA. (I suggest booking at least a month in advance because the train books up VERY fast!)
Although the start to our trip was a bit confusing at first with the train station and which group we were with, once we got moving and through security everything cleared up.
We got on the train and were heading to Paris. We did not upgrade to first class on the train and I didn't think we needed to. The train was great! Before we knew it we were there.
The group got together after the train arrived and we seemed to be missing a couple of people. (I guess we weren't the only ones confused!) Once we got on our tour bus we drove through the small city streets and got a nice perspective of the architecture of the city as well as the people and traffic!
We did our river cruise of the Seine for about an hour. Then went directly to the Eiffel Tower where we bypassed the long lines and went directly into the nice restaurant we were scheduled to have our champagne lunch in. It was very good! I had the Scorpion Fish which was tasty and different at the same time.
From there we went to the Louvre where we split up. Some went into the museum and others walked off to shop. We shopped for some souvenir type stuff and went back to the meeting place and got on the bus back to the train station.
We were pretty tired from the full day of site seeing, but it was definitely worth it!
Although the trip itself was very expensive for the day (over $700 for the two of us) we enjoyed every minute!
