Visiting the Vatican is a hard day, but going with a tour usually maximises the effort. This was our experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information. She was also very mindful of the needs of the group and she constantlty ensured we were all present, so important in this vast place. The best things about this tour are the easy entrance, e few shortcuts to exhibits, stooping at all the significant places, and having someone to answer all those questions you are pondering over.
We went on 5 Viator tours on our last trip to Europe. This was our most disappointing. Pompeii is a very large site and takes a while to visit. Unfortunately our trip started late as we were a composite group, and this meant we were picked up over 40 minutes late and then deviated to collect 2 more tourists from the train station. Our guide was, once again, extremely knowledgeable but disappointment came on our visit to Sorrento. We only had time to drive to the city centre, try out the lemoncello, and then return to the ship. We left with little sense of the town and we didn't even see the harbour or seaside before we returned to the ship.
Great destination, excellent guide. The day was marred by a couple of heavy thunder storms, but all in all a great day!
We were only a small group (13) so easy to keep together and move quickly. Our guide assessed the day and took us to the very popular venues when the queues were less busy. His knowledge was great but unfortunately he spoke quietly and very quickly which was often hard to follow amidst such vast crowds. However the venues were stunning and were allowed reasonable time to explore them on our time.
This is the only way to visit the Eiffel Tower. Our guide was great and coupled with skipping the line this was a great way yo go. Excellent!
